There are more than plenty of options for Italian-style pizza along the Grand Strand. So if you’re in the mood for some baked dough with a California twist, Ultimate California Pizza is a great option for the whole family.
Ultimate California Pizza Food
The menu here is full of things other than pizza – appetizers, salads, sandwiches, subs, wings, and pasta – but first, the pizza.
A true, free-spirited Californian would design his/her own pie. So for starters, choose from two different crusts (hand-tossed Italian white or Rosemary whole wheat) and ten different sauces (Ultimate California Sauce, pesto, ranch dressing, salsa, sweet Thai chili, garlic herb extra virgin olive oil, smoky bbq, creamy artichoke, peanut butter, or roasted garlic). From there, things get even more interesting. In addition to the standards (regular mozzarella, parmesan, etc.), cheese options include rarities like chevre, fresh buffalo mozzarella, and smoked gouda. The vegetable and meat selections cover all the normal toppings, plus things like sweet onions, marinated portabella mushrooms, tenderloin filet, sweet Thai chili chicken, prosciutto, and roast beef. Tack on some peanuts, dates, coconuts, or pineapple, and season it with any number of a handful of herbs and spices, and there you have it. Just to be clear, that means you could create a Rosemary whole wheat pizza with a peanut butter base topped with smoked gouda, Monterrey jack, hot chili peppers, broccoli, anchovies, pesto chicken, coconut, and Cajun seasoning.
But if that doesn’t do it for you, Ultimate California Pizza has two dozen specialty pizzas on the menu that are nearly as interesting as anything you could create.
The rest of the menu is less exciting, but includes things like Lasagna, Wings, Malibu Greek Salad, Polynesian Chicken sandwich, and Spinach & Artichoke Dip. Pretty basic stuff, but if you’re not in the mood for pizza it should be sufficient.
Ultimate California Pizza Atmosphere
This place is family-friendly and has the laid-back atmosphere that you’d expect from a restaurant with the word California in the title. And outdoor seating is available in case you want to enjoy the weather or have someone in your party who likes to be loud.
