About Myrtle Beach Skywheel
The centerpiece of the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk, the Myrtle Beach SkyWheel offers soaring panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean. When it opened in 2011, it forever changed the downtown Myrtle Beach skyline. Standing 200 feet above the ocean, the SkyWheel features 42 climate-controlled, enclosed gondolas, which seat up to 6 passengers.
The wheel was the first of its kind in the United States and the largest wheel of any kind in the U.S. when it was constructed in 2011. Non-reflective glass on the gondolas makes the SkyWheel an ideal spot to take photos of the beach and the surrounding area. Rides are $16.99 for ages 12 and up and $12.99 for ages 3-11.
Although thegondolas can seat up to 6 people, separate parties will not be combined. That means you won’t get stuck riding with strangers!
VIP flights are $54.99 for adults and $35.99 for kids. VIP flights allow riders to skip the line and hop into a special gondola with glass floors and leather bucket seats. VIP riders enjoy a double ride and a free photo to commemorate the experience. The VIP gondola seats 4 people.
The Skywheel also offers a Rise and Flight experience on select dates for early birds hoping to catch a spectacular sunrise over the Atlantic. The sunrise flight is 30 minutes long and includes coffee and pastries. The cost is $49.99 for adults and $29.99 for children.
In addition to the rides, the SkyWheel lights up the beach with a nightly light show, which can also be turned into a gender reveal! The Skywheel can also help you pop the question with a special Proposal Package. The SkyWheel gets decked out for the holidays with red bows and green garland.
Attached to the SkyWheel is the Landshark Bar & Grill, a Jimmy Buffet eatery serving up burgers, sandwiches, salads, and more, along with cold drinks. Along the Boardwalk, you’ll find plenty of food and drink options, plus free concerts and entertainment during the summer months.

A View Like None Other!
I am afraid of heights but went up anyway...can't resist a good photo opportunity! It was an amazing view and I wasn't afraid of the height at all because the little 'cars' you are in are very nice! I got postcard quality photos from up there. A must do for visitors.

Spectacular Attraction!

Worth the View
I've been on other sky wheels. But The Myrtle Beach Sky Wheel is by far the best value. You go around 3 times. This allows you to look in all directions. To see the beauty of the coast and peak back in to the landscape inland. I love water so yo has a magnificent view of the ocean.
