Best Sushi Restaurants in Myrtle Beach
The first-ever Myrtle Beach Awards was met with overwhelming support from our loyal fans and followers. It seems that everyone has a favorite that they want to share - especially when it comes to getting the freshest sushi on the beach.
Thousands of people voted for their favorite sushi restaurants in Myrtle Beach. Here are the 10 most popular spots to check out.
Wicked Tuna opened along the Murrells Inlet MarshWalk in 2013 and quickly grew to be a favorite among locals and visitors alike. Sushi specialties include seasonal BlueFin Tuna, King Crab, Flounder and even Sea Urchin. Try out the Tuna Pizza or the Shrimp and Scallop Ceviche for great, fresh flavors.
King Kong Sushi has two Myrtle Beach locations that are open daily at 11:30 a.m. The menu is centered on creative (and tasty) specialty maki rolls but also features a variety of hibachi entrees and appetizers. The No Name Roll is one of the best around and features fried shrimp and crab topped with tuna, avocado, spicy mayo and eel sauce. Another popular roll is the Volcano roll which is deep fried shrimp, crab, avocado and mango topped with steamed shrimp, tuna and thin sliced jalapenos on top of lobster bisque with sweet and spicy sauce.
Lil’ Tokyo Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi Bar is tucked away near the Coastal Grand Mall. The restaurant has hibachi tables as well as a sushi bar that serves sushi appetizers, a la carte items and platter that come with your choice of soup or salad. The King Eel roll is served with bbq eel, avocado and crab wrapped in cucumber with eel sauce.
Miyabi Japanese Steak and Seafood House is a must-stop restaurant for visitors of Myrtle Beach. The restaurant serves up a full sushi menu and has a separate sushi bar area. The Beginner Sushi is great for those trying it for the first time. It includes one piece of shrimp, one piece of crab and four pieces of California rolls. There are plenty of options for the more experienced sushi diner.
Yamato, “the original Japanese Steakhouse,” is located at Broadway at the Beach and serves a variety of appetizers, sushi and sashimi and hibachi combinations. Try their sashimi dinners with up to seven different types of fish served with soup and salad. The Jsobeage is a roll stuffed with fresh salmon, crab and vegetables lightly fried.
Boardwalk Billy's Raw Bar & Ribs
Boardwalk Billy’s Raw Bar and Ribs is located along the Intracoastal Waterway in North Myrtle Beach. The restaurant has an extensive sushi menu along with seafood entrees, burgers, sandwiches and burgers. Try the I Roll which consists of tuna, crab, lettuce, cilantro, avocado, cucumber and rice paper wrap with a house sweet chili dipping sauce.
Flying Fish is true to it name - watch as the crew throw fresh fish around like you’d see at an old Seattle market. The sushi at the restaurant is made with an assortment of tuna, crab, salmon, eel and more. The Flying Fish Roll is made with eel, salmon, cream cheese and cucumber topped with tuna, avocado, crunchy tempura, spicy mayo and eel sauce.
The sushi menu at Mr. Fish includes two dozen specialty rolls and appetizers. The Yami Yami Roll is made from fried grouper bites and the Hoof and Fin Roll has prime rib, steamed shrimp and asparagus inside. The Blackened Blue Roll was mentioned in Southern Living Magazine and is made from blackened tuna, bleu cheese and red bell pepper topped with remoulade and blackberry wasabi sauce.
Dine in the Teppan Hibachi dining room at Nakato Japanese Restaurant for an entertaining dinner great for any occasion. Their sushi menu features exciting rolls like the Crazy Monkey with salmon, mango, cream cheese, cucumber, avocado and crab wrapped with avocado and tempura flakes. The hibachi selections include fresh catch, calamari, steak, lobster, chicken, scallops, lobster or tofu in almost any combination.
Pull up a seat at the sushi bar at Indo Thai in Myrtle Beach and check out their extensive menu. They offer everything from octopus and sweet tofu to yellow tail and scallops. Try the Special Myrtle Beach Roll made with tuna, dolphin, salmon, cream cheese and crab with masago and avocado on top. If you’re hungry try the Boat for One with nine sashimi, five sushi rolls and a California roll.
