King Kong Sushi

Sushi-lovers go ape over King Kong, one of the trendiest restaurants at Broadway at the Beach. The original location is tucked away in a strip mall in Carolina Forest, but both serve the same great food and attract the same cool crowd. Also open for lunch, both locations also serve as happy hour and late-night hot spots.

King Kong Sushi Food

King Kong is a pretty good description of the monster-sized specialty rolls that come from the sushi bar. Popular 12-piece rolls like the Tuna Mania, a traditional spicy tuna roll wrapped in tuna tataki that is charred with a blow torch and topped with Japanese mayo, can be shared by a large party or serve as a meal for a true tuna fan. Nigiri, Sashimi, Maki and Riceless Maki are also available. King Kong also offers a full line of Asian entrees and hibachi dishes, and it’s possible to make a surf-and-turf meal out of appetizers alone, like the tender Beef Negamaki and flaky Shrimp Tempura. Soups, salads, desserts and a full bar add to the delicious dining experience.

King Kong Atmosphere

King Kong oozes class with its all-dark hardwood interior and ceiling fans. The Broadway location has a nice back porch overlooking Lake Broadway and attracts more of a tourist crowd while the Carolina Forest store is filled with regulars. The good news is you can’t go wrong by dining at either location; the sushi is that good.
