This was a Very Nice Place to Stay!

Enjoyed staying at the Sand Dunes again this year. We were in the "South Tower" which is the 2bedroom / 2 bathroom building. The view was good. The unit was clean and very well stocked... It was almost a gourmet kitchen with all the tools, pots, pans, and equipment. Both bathrooms were modern and renovated and clean. The common areas like lobby and elevators were a tad bit dated, but clean and neat and freshly painted. My family will return to this place.

great view, nice room, convenient location= winning combination

we held the third in a row yearly Magic convention (the ECSS) at the Sand/Ocean Dunes, the staff is friendly, the rooms well kept (really convenient to restaurants, airport and attractions) beautiful view of the Ocean and a good Breakfast Buffet , what more could you ask for

I have visited myrtle beach multiples times a year since I was a young child. Most of the time we stayed in N myrtle beach. This was my first visit, actually staying in the heart of Myrtle beach in many years. I was pleasantly suprised at how accomadating and family friendly everything was. great time

This visit to myrtle Beach was great. Everything about my stay made me want to never come back home. There was so much to do. The resort was lovely and clean. The help there was awesome. They made sure we had everything we needed. I would definitely visit this resort again. I love myrtle Beach.

Excellent family resort

Great place, large bedrooms, fully equipped kitchens, beach just out the doors, small water park, outdoor pool, kids club 10am-5pm, babysitting service 5pm-10pm, great restaurant/bar on site, karaoke. Great waves, warm water, beautiful clean beach, not overly crowded. Best vaca ever-we will be back next year for longer!!

We stayed in the Sand Dunes ocean front during the middle of August with our daughter and her 2 young children. We enjoyed breakfast outside at the ocean front restaurant and the beach access was close by with a short walk to the beach. The grands really enjoyed the waterpark and I’m writing because I was really impressed with one of the workers. She really watched the children and helped to keep them safe from pile ups etc. She stopped them from running and had her area at the slides under control. I thanked her and asked her name…Tera you made this grandma feel better. Thanks again for a job well done!

Best place for kids !

We have been coming here for four years straight now and my kids love it! They have a store on site, restaurants and bars in the hotel. Very convient!! The water park at the hotel and lazy river is awesome!! Beach and pools are always clean, and there is always someone to ask for help if you have an issue! Rooms are clean as well!

Our second home!

We've been coming down to sand dunes for over 8 years now! My dad and uncle own a place in the resort and we also bring our friends down every year in August! The staff is freindly, we've became friends with a few people that go around the same time every year also!

Our Kids Love It

In-laws have owned a luxury 2 BR condo at Sand Dunes Resort/ Spa which features the water park for almost 20 yrs, our kids love it. Very convenient access to beach, ups/downs over the years with management but overall haven't had better vacations there especially with kids who count the days until we return back.

Great view and nice room

The view of the ocean from the balcony was beautiful. The room was nice. Some of the staff was helpful, while others seemed like they didn't really want to be there. Housekeeping did not keep up with the towel supply for the room. I had to call several times for towels.

Enjoyed the extras

It was really nice and quite. I had a fun time enjoying the amendities but I would had love to try and do some more activities on the outside. It was cold so it wasn't to much to do. The hotel stay was nice but i didn't like walking to another building to eat. I rather have the halls inside the hotel also. I didn't like coming out in the cold after showering.

flooded room and stolen watch

I just left there today. What a horrible experience. Our baseball team went there with 5 different age divisions from our baseball academy. There were multiple complaints within our group and several people had items stolen from their rooms. I had a $500 watch stolen from a sunglass case that was in the bottom drawer of a dresser hidden under a pile of clothes. Our safe wouldn't open and no one would come look at it so I hid it the best I could while I went to the beach. We also had a broken lamp, broken closet door, and a broken coffee pot. There were no sheets for the roll out couch bed and it was very worn and uncomfortable. The first night I got there my room flooded from a stopped up toilet above me. There were inches of water in the bathroom floor and counter (also an adjacent laundry room). I went to the desk and saw 3 other families there. The manager would not come talk to us, we waited 45 minutes. He informed us we would not be allowed to change rooms and we would not get a discount of any kind because it was being cleaned up. He was very rude as were the girls at the desk. It was midnight getting cleaned up. My husbands iPhone was damaged and all my toiletries and makeup were saturated. Myself and the other women at the desk were told that the hotel is not responsible for the damaged items. I filled out an incident report on my watch as soon as I realized it was gone and talked to the director of facilities who said he'd call within hours (I checked out to fly home). He never called and couldn't be reached. I emailed him and the general manager of the resort and no one has answered back to even give an update on status of my watch. I am calling the Myrtle Beach police department in the morning. My friend had $60 stolen from her room. This place is a dump, in disrepair and very dated and very unconcerned about complaints and obviously stolen items. I was told they aren't responsible b/c I didn't use the safe (the safe that wouldn't open that I reported to the front desk).

Bad experience with the hotel

The weather was perfect but had so much trouble with the hotel. They put us in the wrong room, it was nasty, some of our stuff got stole & the commode over flowed, flooding the whole bathroom and hall. I love the beach but this year was a bad experience.
