Known in the Myrtle Beach area as one of the top locations for weddings and special events, the Cooper House has a long history. The Cooper House was built for Thomas B. Cooper, who, in 1908 was appointed the title of postmaster for the Socastee area. Right next door to his home he built the T.B. Cooper Store; a general store from which mail was distributed. While the location does not operate as a general store or a post office nowadays, manager and operator Rita Gray has transformed the space into, not only the perfect home for herself, but also a whimsical event space.
The Cooper House is the place to go if you are looking for a rustic, unique, and beautifull space to plan your wedding or other special occasion. Conduct a business meeting, throw a birthday party, or surprise your loved on with an anniversary celebration they will never forget. If you don’t have a celebration to plan but want to spend time at the Cooper House, then you’re in luck! Each month, a group of talented individuals puts together performances which range from beloved Murder Mystery Dinner shows, tea parties, musical concerts, and more.
Most events, such as the monthly Murder Mystery shows, require an admission cost and include dinner cooked up by the talented Chef Rita. Every penny spent is definitely worth it. Sit back and enjoy the entertainment while savoring the delectable, all-natural meals prepared by one of the best chefs on the beach.
