Located in the Carolina Forest section of Myrtle Beach, Man O’ War golf course is no joke, as its name suggests. Surrounding a 100-acre lake, this course contains all the drama and challenge that are the hallmark of world-famous architect Dan Maples. This lake winds through the course, but don’t be dazed by its beauty or else it can become a punishing hazard.
Man O’ War is a par 72, 18-hole layout that features large Bentgrass greens, and holes that challenge even the best of golfers. Test your skill and prepare yourself for a battle for par against the amazing island 9th, and back-to-back island greens.
But don’t worry; if you’re a golfer that is working on his or her skill-set, then you are in luck. Though there are some challenging holes on this course, the fairways and rough make this course playable for any golfer. The fairways are smooth and consistent, and also not very tight which makes it easier to pick the ball. The rough is short, which makes it easier to find your ball and keep the pace of play smooth and fast.
While you’re at the Man O’ War, be sure to stop by the practice range, putting green, chipping area, and practice bunker to prepare for an all-out war against the tough obstacles on the course. Also be sure to check out the marina-style clubhouse that provides players with a pro-shop and a restaurant to serve those golfers that grew hungry during their “battle.”
