About Azalea Sands

Remodeled in 2009. Azalea Sands offers one of the most attractive golf settings on the beach. Architect Gene Hamm designed a fun course that can be easily played in a three- to four-hour time period, a fact sure to bring a smile to even the most impatient golfer's face. At Azalea Sands each holes has newness of it's own. This course full on fairway and green side bunkers is especially player friendly. Azalea Sands is one of the few courses that has no homes, condos or backyards to impede the progress of your game. At Azalea Sands each hole has a pleasing uniqueness all its own. The course provides all of the challenge you can handle.

"It was Mothers Day and the bar closed early. So early that we could not even get a beverage to go out with. The course is in need to help....looks like it's going under....rough shape."

"this course was the worst shape of all the courses we played while visiting. there were some shots i was hitting off mud, and i was in the middle of the fairway. i also think you should mention that there are oversized cups on ALL the greens. some people may want to know that before paying. if at the rate i paid, i was really disappointed"

"I've never seen or played a course in such poor condition before in either Myrtle Beach, home, or anywhere else. Its only saving grace is the cheap price, a very friendly staff, and the Kilted Caddie Club. The Kilted Caddie Club gets a rating of 11/10, but the course itself gets a 1/10. Also, pace of play was brutally slow with no rangers pushing the group a couple groups ahead of us that was holding everyone up."

"Been almost a year now since I played this course. If I remember correctly this course was in fair condition overall at the time. Greens were super slow and rough. fairways were okay, rough was deeper than expected easy to loose balls. Not a great outing but okay for the first course I rushed out onto."

"Seems to be going down hill .. no organization -- people were coming in and just jumping in front of each other ?? walkers, riders,.. No one seemed to be in charge at all. Will not be back !!"

"Greens and roughs really thick needed a good mowing. Easy to lose a ball on the fringe. No roll in the fairways. Greens slow had to stroke it to make it go."

"Awful everything. Place absolutely worst course I have ever played. Played here the last couple of years and got what you paid for a good place to practice. This time the greens were awful. The fairways were non existsnt and bunkers were horrid. They had the guts to charge me 4 for a hot dog and 3 for a water. One jug of hot water on the course on a blazing hot day. Please stay away. "
