Things to do In Myrtle Beach in February
If you're considering an off-season trip to the beach, we're here to help. We get questions all the time from visitors who'd love to come down in the wintertime, but they're worried that there's nothing to do. That couldn't be further from the truth.
Most Myrtle Beach-area attractions and restaurants are open for business even in February, and the hotels offer great deals and discounts on rooms during this time of year, as well.
Here are some things to do in Myrtle Beach in February:
Get a fabulous deal
Hotels want your business in the off-season, and they heavily discount rooms to get it. Our hotel partners are offering rates as low as $37/night for February. These are the same rooms that will cost $70 or more in the summertime. Same room for about half the price!
Enjoy the weather

Visit indoor attractions
Ripley’s Aquarium is open year-round and offers a very cool — and educational — experience for the whole family. Get up close and personal with some of the most dangerous creatures in the sea, including several varieties of sharks, as you walk through the underwater tunnel. The more hands-on members of your group will love petting the stingrays or holding the horseshoe crabs. Other indoor attractions in the Broadway at the Beach complex are also open in February, including the new Wonderworks museum and MagiQuest.
Take a ride on the Skywheel
The Myrtle Beach Skywheel, which opened in 2011 on the new Boardwalk, offers a great view of the oceanfront. The Skywheel’s 42 glass gondolas are fully enclosed and climate-controlled; so, no matter the weather, you’ll be riding in comfort. Be sure to check out the Skywheel’s nightly LED light show while you’re in town.
See the new shows first
Myrtle Beach-area theaters debut their shows near the end of January. Check out the shows at The Carolina Opry, Alabama Theatre, Legends in Concert and the Palace Theatre while the seats are plentiful. If you’ve never taken the time to visit one of these shows during the summertime, you’ll be impressed by the level of talent right here in Myrtle Beach.
Enjoy a nice meal
Myrtle Beach offers hundreds of great restaurants, but during the busy summer months, you may find yourself waiting for a table with your stomach growling. During the off-season, you don’t have to be an early bird to get a seat quickly. Most of your favorite Myrtle Beach eateries are open for business and welcome customers during this less-busy time of year.
