Myrtle Beach Winter Festivals & Events



Each winter, many people flock to the Myrtle Beach area to take advantage of the temperate weather and affordable long-term rentals. And, while some may think that Myrtle Beach is only a happening place during the summer months, they may be surprised to know that there are tons of things for snowbirds to do while they’re in town for the winter.

From Nights of a Thousand Candles to Holiday shows and more, here are some Myrtle Beach events that snowbirds will enjoy:

Holiday Shows

Holiday Shows

Each fall/winter, Myrtle Beach hosts award-winning holiday shows at the top-rated theaters in the area. This year, snowbirds can see The Christmas Show of the South (The Carolina Opry Christmas Special) throughout November and December; The South’s Grandest Christmas Show at The Alabama Theatre throughout November and December; Christmas at Pirates Voyage Dinner & Show from November 9 – December 31; and the Legends in Concert Holiday Show.

Art fans are lucky because Art in the Park will be held for two weekends this November. Catch the festival on November 4-5 in Chapin Park and November 11-12 at Valor Park at The Market Common.

Murrells Inlet 2020 will be hosting their annual Oyster Roast on Saturday, November 18 from 11:30 am until 3 p.m. Enjoy all-you-can -eat oysters for only $35! There will be other food as well as drinks. Guests are encouraged to bring their own oyster knife, but there will be some for sale at the event.

Surfside Beach will be hosting a Turkey Trot on Thursday, November 23. Guests have the option of watching or competing in the following events: 1-mile, 5K, or 10K race. There will also be a Tot Trot for children.

The 33rd annual Intracoastal Christmas Regatta will take place on Sunday, November 26 at 5 p.m. This free event will be held at the Little River Inlet all the way down to Dock Holidays Marina. There will be a collection for Toys for Tots and the Humane Society, so be sure to bring a toy for the kids and/or some litter or pet food for the animals.
