Myrtle Beach Winter Festivals & Events
Each winter, many people flock to the Myrtle Beach area to take advantage of the temperate weather and affordable long-term rentals. And, while some may think that Myrtle Beach is only a happening place during the summer months, they may be surprised to know that there are tons of things for snowbirds to do while they’re in town for the winter.
From Nights of a Thousand Candles to Holiday shows and more, here are some Myrtle Beach events that snowbirds will enjoy:

Each fall/winter, Myrtle Beach hosts award-winning holiday shows at the top-rated theaters in the area. This year, snowbirds can see The Christmas Show of the South (The Carolina Opry Christmas Special) throughout November and December; The South’s Grandest Christmas Show at The Alabama Theatre throughout November and December; Christmas at Pirates Voyage Dinner & Show from November 9 – December 31; and the Legends in Concert Holiday Show.
Art fans are lucky because Art in the Park will be held for two weekends this November. Catch the festival on November 4-5 in Chapin Park and November 11-12 at Valor Park at The Market Common.

Head to the Myrtle Beach Convention Center on November 9-12, 2017 for the 36th annual Dickens Christmas Show. This popular event features holiday vendors, music, food, and much more.

Carolina Beach Music Awards 2021
Beach Music lovers, rejoice! The Carolina Beach Music Awards will be held on Sunday, November 12 at the Alabama Theatre in North Myrtle Beach. There will be live music and tons of fun to honor favorite beach music artists.

2022 Murrells Inlet Oyster Roast
Murrells Inlet 2020 will be hosting their annual Oyster Roast on Saturday, November 18 from 11:30 am until 3 p.m. Enjoy all-you-can -eat oysters for only $35! There will be other food as well as drinks. Guests are encouraged to bring their own oyster knife, but there will be some for sale at the event.
2020 South Carolina State Bluegrass Festival
Visit the Myrtle Beach Convention Center on Thanksgiving weekend for the 48th annual SC State Bluegrass Festival. The family-friendly event will feature performances from popular bluegrass artists such as The Gibson Brothers, The Farm Hands, Dailey & Vincent, The Little Boy Lizzy Show, and more.

Intracoastal Christmas Regatta
The 33rd annual Intracoastal Christmas Regatta will take place on Sunday, November 26 at 5 p.m. This free event will be held at the Little River Inlet all the way down to Dock Holidays Marina. There will be a collection for Toys for Tots and the Humane Society, so be sure to bring a toy for the kids and/or some litter or pet food for the animals.

Nights of a Thousand Candles
Perhaps the most popular winter festival along the Grand Strand, Nights of a Thousand Candles at Brookgreen Gardens will be held on November 30, December 1-2, 7-9, and 14-17.
Light Up the New Year at Brookgreen Gardens
Join Brookgreen Gardens for a special New Year’s Eve event on Sunday, December 31. Guests will be able to stroll around the gardens that are lit up by candles and lights. There will be strolling musicians, light refreshments, and tons of fun.
Restaurant Week South Carolina
Foodies will love Restaurant Week South Carolina, which begins on Thursday, January 11, 2018. This nine-day event will feature special menus and discounts from select Myrtle Beach restaurants. Stay tuned for more details about this event and participating restaurants.
Marshi Gras Celebration
Head on over to the Murrells Inlet MarshWalk on Tuesday, February 13 for the 7th Annual Marshi Gras Celebration. There will be a parade, costume contest, prizes, food & drink specials, and tons of fun.

Broadway at the Beach KidzTime Festival
Round up the kiddos and visit Broadway at the Beach from February 14-24 for the 17th annual KidzTime Festival! There will be live performances, mascot performances, vendors, face painting, a petting zoo, fire engines, pony rides, inflatables, and tons more, all inside & outside a cool circus-style tent. Admission is free but some activities will have a charge.

The 2018 Myrtle Beach Marathon will be held from Thursday, March 1 – Saturday, March 3. There will be a variety of races as well as Health and Wellness Expos and a post-race party at the House of Blues.
