About Founders Club

One of the newest golf courses on the Grand Strand is also one of the best at the Founders Club at Pawleys Island, where the South Carolina Lowcountry’s natural beauty and creative golf design come together to form one unique golf experience. created by Thomas Walker, former lead designer for Gary Player Design, amid the salt marshes and maritime forests of Pawleys Island, the Founders Club features 18 masterfully constructed holes that are both visually stunning and give the illusion that the layout is more difficult than it really plays. But don’t think you’re not in for a challenge. This course has quickly become a “must play” among the many courses on the Strand.

Founders Club - Beau

Founders is one of my favorite all time courses. Period. The low average rating is bs, as there is nothing to complain about with the entire place. Friendly people, the course was in great shape last time I played, and it wasn’t crowded.

Founders Club - Glenn Toplyn

Not in good condition. Grass patchy, greens half grass half dirt. I felt like I was cheated based on the price I paid.

Founders Club - Yankee Golfer

I have been coming to Myrtle Beach for 13 years to play golf. This by far was the worst experience I ever had! First the course was in terrible shape: the tee boxes, fairways, and the greens were destroyed. But what made it worse was the water jugs had warm water, there was no beverage service on the course and the restrooms on the back nine were locked! Horrible!
