Ah, fall, when the weather is cool and the beach is still welcoming. Though many people may not think of coming to Myrtle Beach during October because it is thought of as a summer destination, Myrtle Beach in October is actually pretty awesome! Not only do visitors get to relish in beautiful fall coastal temperatures, but they also get to enjoy their favorite vacation spot without all of the crowds.

Did you know that October is one of the best months to visit Myrtle Beach? In fact, we rated it the #1 month to visit due to low occupancy rates, low room rates, and great weather. The average air temperature is around 77º, and the average water temperature is around 72º, which is still great for visiting the beach! Fall Festivals
Fall festivals and events are a big deal here in Myrtle Beach, and there are several exciting events that happen each year in the month of October. Here are the main events happening in October 2024:
Myrtle Beach Fall Bike Rally | The Myrtle Beach fall bike rally is Sept. 30-Oct. 6. Many events are slated throughout the fall rally weekend along the Grand Strand.
Pawleys Island Festival of Music and Art | Two weeks of cultural entertainment and music performances Oct. 4-19.
Oktoberfest | Oktoberfest at Barefoot Landing will be held from 12pm to 8pm on October 5.
Brookgreen Gardens Harvest Home Weekend | The family-friendly event is held outdoors Oct. 5-6 and features pumpkin painting, scarecrow building and more!
Little River ShrimpFest | The 19th annual Little River ShrimpFest is Oct. 12-13th.
Loris Bog-Off | The Loris Bog-Off features plenty of food options, including Lowcountry favorite chicken bog. The Bog-Off Festival is Oct. 19.
Georgetown Wooden Boat Show | The 35th Annual Georgetown Wooden Boat Show is Oct. 19-20.
Taste of the Town | The 40th Annual Taste of the Town is happening at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center on October 22.
Myrtle Beach Jeep Jam | The annual Jeep Jam returns to Myrtle Beach for its third year Oct. 25-27.
