Summer blockbusters are great, but if you’re looking to catch a show on the cheap, check out these free or low-cost family movie options this summer around the Myrtle Beach area. Choose from kids movies shown weekday mornings at several theaters around town, or watch a movie under the stars on several outdoor screens this summer.

Catch a family flick for free at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings throughout the summer at Grand 14 Cinemas at The Market Common. Popcorn and kids’ soft drinks are just $1 each until 10:20 a.m. (Titles subject to change)

Both area AMC Classic locations (Broadway at the Beach and Myrtle Beach Mall near Briarcliffe Acres) offer Summer Movie Camp. Family-friendly titles are available for just $4/ticket at 10 a.m. every Wednesday. Ticket includes a kidspack snack/drink combo. Featured movies are:

Check out Movies Under the Stars on Friday nights this summer in Valor Park at The Market Common. Beer and wine will be for sale along with gourmet snacks and popcorn. Bring a chair or blanket, but please do not bring alcohol to this event. Movies start at dusk (typically around 9 p.m.)

Marina Park, Grande Dunes, Myrtle Beach

The Grande Dunes Marina park hosts free movie nights throughout summer. Donations will be accepted for local charities at the events. Movies will begin at sunset.

McLean Park, 93 Oak Drive, North Myrtle Beach
Join the fun in North Myrtle Beach at Movies @ McLean on select Friday nights through the summer and fall. Bring a chair or blanket and get cozy with concessions from the North Myrtle Beach Lions Club. Movies begin 15 minutes after sunset. Start times are approximate. Admission is free.
