Summer blockbusters are great, but if you’re looking to catch a show on the cheap, check out these free or low-cost family movie options this summer around the Myrtle Beach area. Choose from kids movies shown weekday mornings at several theaters around town, or watch a movie under the stars on several outdoor screens this summer.

Catch a family flick for free at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings throughout the summer at Grand 14 Cinemas at The Market Common. Popcorn and kids’ soft drinks are just $1 each. (Titles subject to change)

Both area AMC Classic locations (Broadway at the Beach and Myrtle Beach Mall near Briarcliffe Acres) offer Summer Movie Camp. Family-friendly titles are available for just $4/ticket at 10 a.m. every Wednesday. Ticket includes a kidspack snack/drink combo.

Check out Movies Under the Stars on Friday nights this summer in Valor Park at The Market Common. Beer and wine will be for sale along with gourmet snacks and popcorn. Bring a chair or blanket, but please do not bring alcohol to this event. Movies start at dusk every other Wednesday.
