About Umberto’s Pittsburgh-Italian Trattoria
Owned and operated by an Italian family of transplants from Pittsburgh, Umberto’s offers a taste of Italian as translated through the Steel City. Umberto’s maintains a loyal following on the Grand Strand with its family recipes and friendly atmosphere.
Umberto’s Pittsburgh-Italian Food
Umberto’s puts its own unique spin on traditional Italian cuisine and also offers an abundance of surf and turf. The Neopolitan Rigatoni features fresh shrimp sautéed in olive oil, garlic, peppers, black olives, artichokes, tomatoes and red pepper flakes, and the Zuppa de Mare offers a bounty of shrimp, scallops, calamari, clams and mussells served over spaghetti in red or white sauce. On the “landfood” lineup, Umberto’s has a wide selection of beef, pork and lamb chops, plus the house special Steak Scampi topped with shrimp and lemon-butter sauce. Veal and chicken specials served with fresh pasta, soup, salad and bread come with the large portions, and the truly hungry can sample some of the best items on the menu with the Italian Feast for Four. An extensive wine selection and a full bar featuring cordials and coffees go great with Umberto’s desserts.
Umberto’s Atmosphere
Dining at Umberto’s is like joining a large Italian family for a feast. The mood is casual and festive and the service is formal and friendly. The new Barefoot Resort location features a lot of the same art and décor as the old place.
