About Thoroughbreds Chophouse and Seafood Grille

This locally owned and operated establishment has a dedicated following among locals and regular visitors. Thoroughbreds has been a fixture on Myrtle Beach’s famed Restaurant Row since opening in 1988 and is known as one of the top fine-dining options on the Grand Strand.

Thoroughbreds Food

In keeping with the racehorse theme, Thoroughbreds’ menu is divided into courses consisting of seven furlongs – from the Starting Gate to the Finish Line. In between a nice spread of appetizers and desserts is a stable of selection of soups, salads and entrees. The Belmont Stakes includes Steak Au Poivre, Slow-Roasted Prime Rib and Chateaubriand; Seabiscuit features Lowcountry Crab Cakes, Grouper Nantua and Salmon Provencal; and The Preakness offers Calf Liver, Rack of Lamb and Duck Du Jour. The Homestretch has Thoroughbred’s famous Kentucky Derby Pie and a wide range of coffees and cordials. In addition to a thorough wine list and a full bar, Thoroughbred’s has its own line of creative martini’s for the perfect nightcap to a great meal.

Thoroughbreds Atmosphere

Thoroughbred’s is known for fine dining in an elegant environment. The equestrian theme is evident in the décor, featuring a clubhouse feel and charmingly appointed dining area. The crowd tends to be upscale golfers and local movers-and-shakers, and the service is impeccable.

  • Wonderful

From the first time you walk into the door you are welcomed. The French onion soup is to die for and the chicken dish was fantastic. The Banana Foster Is off the chart. Staff is first rate and classy. More intimate then Ruth Chris..

  • Words on a Website Can’t Describe Such Excellent Food!

MB area residents, we found out about Thoroughbreds online. We were intrigued, and checked out the restaurant on the Saturday following Valentine's Day. Incredibly delicious food - starting with blackened beef tips and crab cake, the salads, the Grouper Nantua, and through the Triple Crown dessert cake! Been back a few more times, EVERYTHING we have eaten has just been excellent, and... we will be getting married and having our reception there in 2019!! You must go; you'll love the food and the atmosphere!
