If you’re craving Italian food while you’re staying along the Grand Strand, make your way to the Original Valentino Italian Restaurant in Surfside Beach! This fine establishment is owned by Sal Bommarito, who is an integral part of the restaurant. Sal has been in the restaurant business since the ’70s and it shows; his customer service and dedication to the quality of food and service at Valentino is bar none.
The Original Valentino Italian Restaurant’s Food
The food at Valentino is carefully crafted with love by professionally trained, world-seasoned chefs. Each meal at Valentino is made to order with the freshest and tastiest ingredients around. If you’re looking for authentic Italian, made-from-scratch fare, Valentino is the place for you.
Start off your meal with a delicious appetizer such as a Hot Antipasto for Two (clams, mussels shrimp, stuffed mushrooms, and eggplant); Bruschetta, Clams Oreganata, Mozzarella Caprese, Stuffed Mushrooms, Eggplant Rollaintini, or one of the other tasty choices available.
Those looking for lighter fare can opt for a nice cold salad such as the classic Caesar, Greek , or Italian Salad with fresh salad greens, tomatoes, cucumbers, and onions served with Italian dressing. Arugula salad is also another great choice, and don’t forget about the soup of the day!
If you’re really hungry, that’s no problem — Valentino has something for everyone. Pasta dishes here include Sacchettini ala Vodka; Rigatoni Broccoli Rabe & Sausage; Lasagna; Baked Ziti; Manicotti;
If you’re not in the mood for pasta (which, who isn’t ever in the mood for pasta?) then you can always try out a dish made with Chops, Steaks, Veal, Chicken, or Seafood. Sink your teeth into a Veal Chop, Pork Chop, Pork Ossobucco, New Zealand Lamb Chops, or Beef Braciola: top round of beef pounded and rolled with pine nuts, parsley, and garlic, slow cooked in marinara sauce. Or, order a juicy steak like the 10 oz Filet Mignon; Surf & Turf; or the N.Y. Strip.
There are veal and chicken options aplenty at Valentino. Treat yourself to veal or chicken prepared in the following styles: Marsala; Parmigiana; Picatta; Saltimbocca; Cacciatore; French; or Ala John (topped with mushrooms, eggplant, prosciutto, and mozzarella, served with pasta.
Of course, Valentino wouldn’t be a proper Italian restaurant without a seafood section on their menu. Dig into Red Snapper, Shrimp Scampi, Shrimp Fra Diablo, Main Lobster Fra Diablo, Grouper Pescatore, Linguine with Claims, or the Seafood Special for Two which includes shrimp, clams, mussels, scallops, fresh lobster, and calamari, all of which is sautéed with fresh basil, garlic, and white wine infused marinara sauce, served with pasta.
Valentino also offers 14”, 16” and Sicilian pizza pies with your choice of toppings.
Whether you’re full or not, it’s best to end your meal at Valentino with a dessert. Choose from Tiramisu, Cannoli, Chocolate Overload Cake, Italian Cheesecake, Tartufo, and Lemoncello Cake.
