With so many Italian joints and pizzerias in the area, how does an eatery go about standing out in the crowd? Actually, there are lots of ways. One of them is to offer a long list of specialty pizzas that aren’t available anywhere else. And that is exactly what Mama Mia’s has done.
Mama Mia’s Pizzeria Food
If you need something to nibble on while your pie is in the oven, try Mama’s Breadsticks, which are sprinkled with garlic, basil, oregano, parmesan, and served with a warm marinara; or one of the flatbreads, prepared Old World-style with melted cheddar, your choice of chicken, ground beef, or filet mignon, and topped with tomato salsa, crisp lettuce, and jalapeno peppers.
For Specialty Pizzas, the 21 different options are all over the map. The standards are well-represented – Big Mama (supreme), Big Poppy (meat lovers), Hang 10 (Hawaiian), Mama’s Veggie Delight – but that leaves over a dozen unique combinations. Standouts include the Godfather (surf and turf), that comes topped with steak, shrimp, garlic, basil, yellow onion, provolone, mozzarella, and an extra virgin olive oil drizzle; the Buddha Pie (Thai chicken), a chili-sauce base topped with chicken, roasted red peppers, yellow onions, mozzarella, and crushed peanuts; the Milano Pizza, a basil pesto-based pie topped with sweet garlic peppers, Roma tomatoes, Italian sausage, mozzarella, imported ricotta, and a parmesan sprinkle.
But if you happen to find yourself at Mama Mia’s Pizzeria and don’t want to eat pizza, a full menu of classic Pasta (Baked Ziti, Lasagna, Spaghetti, Chicken Alfredo, and Shrimp Alfredo) and Mama’s Toasty Subs (Cheesesteak, Italian, Roast Beef, Club, Meatball, Chicken Parm) are also available.
Mama Mia’s Pizzeria Atmosphere
Their three locations are all what you’d expect from a Myrtle Beach pizzeria, but the new location on Grissom Parkway is cleaner and more spacious than the others. And while the main business here is take-out and delivery, a bar-and-booth dining area is available for those who want to hang out and eat on-site.
