About Joe’s Bar & Grill

This North Myrtle Beach eatery has been serving up high-quality dishes and drinks to locals and tourists alike for more than 30 years, earning itself the reputation of an elder among the area’s culinary community.

Open every day of the week at 5 p.m., an Early Bird menu is available for the first hour of service, followed by a dinner menu full of options from shellfish appetizers to center-cut steaks and seafood medleys.

Joe’s Bar & Grill Food

One of the things that keeps people coming back to Joe’s is the impressive scope of the menu. The Appetizer, Soups, and Salads list includes Thai Bar-b-que Ribs, Escargot with Mushrooms, Prince Edward Island Blue Mussels (spicy marinara, garlic toast points), and Local South Carolina Clams (white wine, garlic, butter lemon, diced tomatoes, scallions, shallots). For those with a little bigger appetite, check out Joe’s Sampler, a dish of angel hair pasta with shrimp, bacon-wrapped scallops, blackened fish chunks, and blackened beef tips.

The selection of entrees here has to be one of the broadest in town, with steaks, chicken, pork, veal, lamb, shellfish, seafood, and pasta each making an appearance or two. Standouts include Steak Au Poivre (8oz filet, peppercorn-crusted, sautéed in brandy, cream, and Dijon mustard), the Triple Play (12oz Ribeye, crab cake, blackened shrimp), Veal Neptune (sautéed and served with crabmeat, shrimp, scallops, and Bearnaise), Seafood Medley (shrimp, scallops, lump crab, New Zealand mussels, garlic butter, white wine, lemon, herbs), and Chicken Oscar (sautéed and served with crabmeat, asparagus, and Hollandaise).

For the Early Bird crowd, Joe’s offers a condensed, budget-friendly menu from 5 – p.m. Sautéed Cajun Mushrooms, Shrimp Cocktail, and Sautéed Mushrooms with Almonds make up the Appetizer offerings, while things like Prime Rib, Pork Chops, Shrimp and Grits, Chicken Parmesan, and Shrimp and Scallop Alfredo round out the Entrée list.

Joe’s Bar & Grill Atmosphere

The two-story space here has the look and feel of a cozy, upscale hunting cabin. The first floor features a living room-like area with couches and a fireplace, a quaint bar, and a deck bar that overlooks the saltwater marsh. The tables upstairs are covered in white table clothes, making for an upscale experience where guests can enjoy their favorite dishes from the fine menu.

At Joe’s, the name is unassuming, but the atmosphere and culinary offerings are anything but.

  • Wonderful!!

We were visiting Myrtle Beach from Pa. and looked for the best restraunts near our condo and low and behold hidden behind the trees was this gem just 4 min from where we are staying. Needless to say we will be back tomorrow. The food is outstanding as well as the service.

  • Fantastic

Only downfall was difficulty getting through on the phone to make a reservation which is highly recommended. We showed up at the door in hopes to get a reservation and were accommodated right away. Recommend arriving early as we saw why. The place is small, food is excellent and our server, Phillip, was pleasant and spot on. Highly recommend just need better contact for reservations.
