Jimmy Buffett sang about this fictional seaside town in one of his songs, but this place is fictional no more. Based on the “shrimp, they’re beginning to boil” and the “frozen concoctions that helps me hang out” from the hit tune, Margaritaville at Broadway at the Beach is a great place to escape the rat race for a little slice of paradise, especially for Parrotheads.
Margaritaville offers a wide range of Caribbean, Cajun and American cuisine, beginning with a selection of soups, salads and appetizers, such as the Volcano Nachos or Lava Lava Shrimp. Of course, you can also get a Cheeseburger In Paradise or other songline sandwiches, like the Cuban, Blackened Grouper or Barbecue Pork. But it’s the entrees that give guests a real taste of the Buffett lifestyle. Jerked Chicken, Jimmy’s Jamabalaya or the Calaypso Chicken Pasta are house favorites, or go the surf-and-turf route for a juicy steak paired with the fresh catch of the day prepared any way you want it. Save room for the Chocolate Hurricane or Key Lime Pie for dessert, or make it a liquid lunch with one of the many frozen drinks.
Laid-back, just like Jimmy would want it. In fact, the Son of a Son of a Sailor has visited this place himself to make sure it’s in line with the Caribbean Soul lifestyle. It’s always a party indoors, where a hurricane warning is issued every half hour, and out, where a large patio deck with a bandshell allows guests to enjoy food, drink and music.
