About El Cerro Grande

This family-owned eatery has been serving up some of the best Mexican food on the Grand Strand for years. Whether you’re in the mood for a Speedy Gonzalez at lunch (taco, enchilada, and choice of rice or beans) or one of their sizzling fajita entrees for dinner, El Cerro Grande (‘The Big Hill’) offers consistent and tasty cuisine inspired by our neighbors south of the border.

El Cerro Grande Food

The lunch portions here are generous and reasonably-priced and come out piping hot. Guests can choose from a wide variety of dishes including Huevos Ranchero (two eggs, red sauce, rice, beans, tortillas), Camarones Al Mojo de Ajo (garlic-marinated shrimp, rice, salad, tortillas), Fajita Nachos (chicken or beef, bell peppers, onions, melted cheese), or any number of standards like Burritos, Enchiladas, Taquitos, Quesadillas, and Chimichangas.

The dinner menu is separated into six sections – Appetizers, Make-Your-Own Combo, Special Dinners, Chicken, Fajitas, and Seafood.

For starters, munch on some Nachos (Cheese, Chicken, or Beef), one of their Dips (Cheese, Spinach, Bean, Guacamole, Shrimp), any number of Quesadillas (Chicken, Spinach, Mushroom, Shrimp, Steak, or Cheese), or some Jalapeno Poppers.

If you’re in the mood for something of our your creation, choose one from this list – Burrito, Enchilada, Taco, Tostada, Chili Relleno – and then fill it with things from this one – Cheese, Potatoes, Ground Beef, Chicken, Spinach, Mushrooms.

Special Dinner highlights include Enchilada Supreme (chicken, cheese, and beef enchiladas topped with lettuce, tomato, and sour cream, served with rice), El Cerro Grande (Ribeye and grilled chicken served with beans and rice), and Alambre (beef or chicken, green peppers, onions, pico de gallo, melted cheese, choice of beans or rice).

Chicken preparations include styles like Popeye (spinach and melted cheese with rice, salad, and pico de gallo), Monterrey (bacon, chorizo sausage, onions, cheese), and Green Enchiladas (spicy green salsa, cheese, onions, cilantro).

Fajitas are served in audibly-hot black skillets, and options include chicken or beef in Burrito, Nacho, or Quesadilla-form, in addition to Shrimp (bell peppers, onions, guacamole), Seafood (fish, shrimp, scallops, peppers, onions), and Texanas (shrimp, chicken, beef).

Seafood entrees include Shrimp Diablo (hot salsa, rice, salad, tortillas), Filete a la Mexicana (tilapia, onions, tomato, jalapeno), and Shrimp & Cream (chipotle cream, rice, salad).

El Cerro Grande Atmosphere

Mariachi music, that lively Mexican folk genre, plays from the speakers at an appropriate volume, creating an authentic vibe. Adding to that is the interior, which is covered with earth colors – dark yellow walls, deep red awnings, brown booths. All in all, El Cerro is both a festive and relaxing place to enjoy a good meal.
