About Crepe Creation Cafe
This Market Common eatery offers a chance to escape the sometimes boisterous atmospheres of the larger restaurants down the street. And cecause they aren’t a traditional American food of choice, it’s probably worth explaining that crepes are very thin pancakes that can be stuffed with all kinds of ingredients. They’re a staple in French cuisine, but countries around the world like China, Russia, Italy, and Mexico all have their own similar version.
Crepe Creation Café Food
The doors open every day at 8 a.m. for breakfast and the offerings include a Stuffed French Toast Crepe, which is filled with your choice of strawberries, blueberries, apple, bananas, or cream cheese; the Morning Spin, with scrambled eggs, spinach, feta, and bruschetta salsa; or the hearty Steak & Eggs, with seasoned steak, scrambled eggs, a Swiss and Cheddar blend, onions, and sour cream and salsa if you’re in the mood.
From there, the crepe options are divided into two categories – Savory and Sweet. Unless you’re a four-year old, it’s best to leave the Sweet Crepes alone until dessert, because the options include things like Bananas Foster (melted butter and crystallized brown sugar with bananas topped with powdered sugar and caramel), the Ice Cream Crepe (choice of chocolate or vanilla, choice of fruit, topped with whipped cream, powdered sugar and milk chocolate), and several other creations worth saving room for.
On the Savory side, there are 21 different combinations that draw inspiration from many different international cuisines. France is represented by the Parisiene (Brie, apples, almonds, and black cherry balsamic) and the Champignons et Fromage (Portobello mushrooms, Brie, wild mushroom and sage oil). The crepes with an Italian flair include Chicken Florentine, Chicken Parmesan, and the Tuscan Chicken, which is made up of seasoned chicken, fresh spinach, grilled mushrooms, mozzarella, bruschetta salsa, and Tuscan herb olive oil. Mexican cuisine is also cleverly referenced in the Crepesadilla (chicken, bell peppers, onions, melted cheddar and mozzarella, chipotle olive oil, and a side of salsa) and the Taco Crepe (seasoned steak, onions, cheddar, tomatoes, sour cream, romaine, and salsa). Other options play on Mediterranean, American, and Southern. It’s also worth noting that most of the crepes can be made into paninis, and gluten free and buckwheat crepes are available for a small fee.
Crepe Creation Café Atmosphere
The dining room is small and quaint and has the feel of a little bistro in Paris. And it’s located next to the movie theater and just off the main thoroughfare, which means that the sidewalk outside gets plenty of traffic, enhancing the Parisian-like experience.
