This restaurant specializes in Szechuan, Hunan, and Cantonese cuisine. That might just mean Chinese-American, but locals have been enjoying the fare here for many years.
China Dragon Food
The menu, like most Chinese-American menus, is huge. There are 182 items (not including lunch specials) in categories titled Appetizers, Soup, Fried Rice, Chow Mein, Chop Suey, Lo Mein, Chow Mai Fun, Egg Foo Young, Poultry, Roast Pork, Beef, Seafood, Moo Shu, Vegetable Plates, Sweet & Sour, Health Food Section, Combination Plates, Chef’s Specialties, Lunch Specials, and Special Dishes.
The selections for meat preparations are also pretty standard – with broccoli, with cashew nuts, with black bean sauce, sesame, hot & spicy, orange, sesame, General Tso, Kung Pao, Mongolian, etc.
Special Dishes include Phoenix & Dragon (jumbo shrimp and Chinese vegetables in white sauce; sesame chicken), Seafood with Pan Fried Noodles (jumbo shrimp, lobster, crab meat, mixed vegetables, white sauce, pan fried noodles), and Triple Hunan (beef, chicken, shrimp, mixed vegetables in a the chef’s special spicy sauce).
China Dragon Atmosphere
From the looks of things, most people carry out large paper bags to be eaten elsewhere. But the dining area is suitable enough – well-lighted, bench seating, open kitchen.

CHINA DRAGON 7701 N King Hwy is Delicious!
I really like to order online without having to call it in. That’s just how I do it so there’s no surprises. I ordered roast pork egg foo young and I added a small house special fried rice to that for $4. I also ordered pan seared dumplings. After I hit the order button, I realized I was 10 minutes away at the Strand Hotel on Ocean Blvd. I figured I’d get a call saying you’re too far away and they would not deliver. The driver called me on his way here and I apologized for being far away. He said no problem at all. He even came up to the room (15th Floor) to deliver the food which was a nice surprise. Thank you! The dumplings are excellent with a thin crispy dough outside and tasty meat inside not overwhelmed with spices or ginger. These are the good dumplings, not big thick dough balls with a tiny dab of meat. The roast pork egg foo young was cooked perfectly, very tasty, and it was not floating in oil like most places do. The house special fried rice is very tasty and has so much shrimp and chicken and pork in it. Everything was perfect. Now that I know China Dragon will deliver when we’re at The Strand, that’s where we will order from! (NOTE: We ordered from China King (2stars) at 1011 501 Food Lion Center S & 3rd, Myrtle Beach twice and it's just not tasty at all. Singapore Mei Fun from China King has a layer of hot chili sauce to the curry and It burns your face off and you taste nothing so order that mild! Read my China King Review too.) Anyway, we finally found good Chinese food and we will order from China Dragon again. We ordered from China Dragon, 7701 N KINGS HWY MYRTLE BEACH, SC, 29572 843-692-2333 On 1/28/21, 2/1/21, and 2/8/21 and each time it was perfect! This order was chicken shrimp kung pao and again it was soooo good, as well as my hubby’s no vegetable house special lomein which is hard to make taste good but it was. They are 9-10 minutes from The Strand and they actually delivered here no problem. I think I should have tipped the last 3 drivers more than $8?
