This Murrells Inlet eatery prides itself on the use of local ingredients to create unique American cuisine with a Southern flare. Part restaurant and part lounge, Bliss also offers dual atmospheres, suitable to be experienced one at a time, or together during a big night out.

The list of Appetizers is shellfish-heavy, but not completely so. The choice will largely depend on which entrée piques your fancy, but guests can choose to start with shelled-delicacies like Butter Poached Lobster Claws (swiss chard, pickled pearl onion, port blackberry reduction), Citrus Scented Sea Scallops (micro green and orange salad, wilted spinach, lemon-thyme emulsion), or Sautéed Oysters (Applewood bacon, corn and tomato ragout, wilted spinach), or try their Traditional Beef Tartar, Asian Beef Spring Rolls, or Fried Green Tomato & Shrimp.

Highlights from the Salad options include Grilled Romaine (sautéed prosciutto, tomatoes, bleu cheese, smoked bacon and Asiago vinaigrette), Pear and Walnut (sliced Anjou, mesclun greens, walnut-encrusted goat cheese medallion, honey walnut vinaigrette), and the Fried Green Tomato Salad (mixed greens, mozzarella, red onion, croutons, balsamic vinaigrette).

Entrées are divided into two categories – From the Butcher’s Block and From Pristine Waters. The first contains house-favorites like Stuffed Buffalo Meatloaf (smoked Gouda, tomato, spinach, bacon, with whipped potatoes, broccoli, and a garlic demi-glace), Pecan Orange Duck Breast (sweet potato puree, green beans, pecan and Gran Marnier glaze), and Low-Country Chicken Roulade (cheddar, bacon, tomatoes, with creamy grits, baby greens, and peppered chicken gravy), in addition to Veal Osso Buco, Grilled Veal Chop, Ribeye, Filet Mignon, and Braised Short Ribs.

Standouts from the surf side of the menu include Crab Crusted Grouper (herb-roasted potatoes, corn, leek, and Shiitake ragout, crab cream), Shrimp and Grits (cheddar, Andouille, bell pepper, onions), and Grilled Tuna (lobster risotto, baby carrots, tomato and basil cream).

Bliss Restaurant & Lounge Atmosphere

The dining room here is a warm, cozy space that is well-suited for romantic date nights and small celebrations alike. The area is outfitted with dark hardwoods and low-level lighting, which create an upscale, rustic feel.

The bar area is similar, if a little more chic, and features a fire place and several hanging works of art. Whether you dine there or not, Bliss is a great place for a quiet, relaxing cocktail before or after dinner.
