Description
About Run to the Sun Car Show

The Run to the Sun Car Show, one of the largest in the Southeast, brings thousands of classic cars to Myrtle Beach for a weekend-long event. The massive event has been a staple on the Grand Strand for more than 30 years.

The show includes thousands of pre-1989 cars and trucks with awards given in multiple categories.

Organizers are thrilled to extend a warm welcome to Luke Duke and The Blues Brothers at the 2024 Run to the Sun event. Attendees will have the unique opportunity to meet Tom Wopat, renowned for his portrayal of Luke Duke in the iconic 1980s TV series “The Dukes of Hazzard.” Over the weekend, Tom will be showcasing the legendary 1969 Dodge Charger “General Lee.”

Joining the lineup are The Blues Brothers, featuring Stan and Bob Hammond as Jake and Elwood Blues. Embodied for almost a decade, these iconic characters from the 1980 film will be present at the Run to the Sun with their signature 1974 Dodge Monaco Sedan, the Bluesmobile. Attendees are encouraged to seize the opportunity for photos and interaction at the celebrity area in the north-west vendor and sponsor zone.

Operated by Events Apparel, the Run to the Sun Car and Truck Show is not only a celebration of automobiles but also a platform for philanthropy. The event has consistently supported various local and national charities, including the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Children’s Miracle Network at McLeod Children’s Hospital, Horry County Sheriff’s Department Benevolent Fund, Grand Strand Miracle League, and the Carolina Forest HS NJROTC Booster Club. Over the years, these contributions have exceeded $2.0 million, with more than $100,000 donated in the past two years alone.

The show runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily at the old Myrtle Square Mall. Spectator tickets are $15 for a single-day adult ticket or $25 for a three-day pass. Military members can purchase 3-day tickets for $10 (includes family members). Children 12 and younger are free.
