Capturing the beauty of the holiday season can be a challenge even for experienced photographers. Brookgreen Gardens offers a workshop that teaches photographic and lighting techniques to get focused photography of lighted holiday displays.
Participants will learn professional techniques for night photography, including proper exposure settings and how to “paint with light” against the beautiful holiday backdrop of Nights of Thousand Candles.
They must bring their own camera, lens, tripod, and batteries and have working knowledge of their camera. The class will be taught by photographers George DeCamp, Anne Malarich, and Chuck Lawhon.
An instructional video will be made available starting Nov. 4 for viewing before the in-person class on Nov. 11 or 12.
During on-site training, participants will be allowed to use tripods, work with long exposures, and will have exclusive access to Brookgreen Gardens.
Participants should bring a drink and a snack and dress for the weather. The workshop is limited to 20 participants each night. Tickets are $40 for members and $55 for non-members.
