

Gear up for the annual trick-or-treating and costume parade on Halloween at the Murrells Inlet Marshwalk. Both kids and adults can participate in costume contests!
Trick or treating begins at 5 p.m. along the Marshwalk, and the kids’ costume begins at 6 p.m. in front of Drunken Jack’s at the pirate statue. Kids 3 and up can win pries for the Most Creative, Best Group, Funniest, and Scariest. Kids 2 and under compete for the Awes Applause award. Prizes include candy, ribbons and trophies.
The adult contest begins at 7 p.m. with over $4000 in cash and prizes up for grabs. Categories include Best Duo, Best Group, Best Individual, Big & Bulky, Murrells Inlet themed, and Honorable Mention. Judges will be out and about on the Marshwalk looking for the best costumes. The final judging will take place at Sloppy Jose’s at 9:30.
Participants must register for the contest between 7 and 8:30 p.m. to be eligible for prizes. You can do so at the table between Wahoo’s and Drunken Jack’s.
