About Celebrating The Shag: 40 Years as South Carolina’s State Dance

Journey to downtown North Myrtle Beach, the birthplace of The Shag, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Shag becoming the state dance of South Carolina. Locals and visitors alike of all ages are encouraged to come down to the Main Street Horseshoe to listen to live music, shop, and dance til’ you drop. Kick back and unwind with us in your beach chair on Main Street. Main Street will be restricted to pedestrian traffic only from Ocean Boulevard to the ocean side of Melt Ice Cream and to the ocean side of Main Street Sweets. Concert goers may bring chairs to sit in this area to listen to the concert. From Main Street Sweets and Melt Ice Cream to Hillside Drive normal parking and vehicular traffic is in effect
