Brookgreen Gardens Prepares for Nights of a Thousand Candles 2015

One of the most-anticipated events of the season, Brookgreen Gardens will stage this year’s lights and candles festival from 3 – 10 p.m. on December 3-5, 10-12 and 17-20.

With over five thousand hand-lit candles, and the sounds of carolers and bells filling the air, this annual affair is a great way to get in the holiday spirit while taking in the natural beauty of the historic property in a new way – by candlelight.

New for 2015 is an outdoor glass sculpture exhibit created by Conway Glass. Giant bulbs and reeds will illuminate in earth tones along with a glowing Tree of Glass within a brick wall. The display can be seen in Anne's Garden.

As always a full entertainment lineup is planned in two tents at the gardens. Performers include the Thistledown Tinkers, Paul Grimshaw Band, Bates Holman, bagpipers, Bill Oberst, TruSol, Vocal Edition and many others.

The kind staff at Brookgreen has several suggestions to help visitors get the most out of their experience – dress warmly, wear comfortable shoes, arrive early, carpool, and, if possible, attend on a Thursday.

Tickets for this year’s event are $18 for adults and $10 for children ages 4 to 12 and are available at Brookgreen.org, by calling (843) 235-6016, or at the gardens.

Here's a little sneak preview of the event.
