Update: Topgolf heading to Myrtle Beach

The golfing and entertainment company Topgolf is pursuing a location in Myrtle Beach. The Myrtle Beach Community Appearance Board will meet with Topgolf representatives to review a new 38,382-square-foot building at 29th Ave. and Robert Grissom Parkway. Topgolf has 30 venues in the U.S., with a Charlotte venue that just recently opened. This attraction, which features point-scoring golf games, food, drinks, big-screen TVs and live music, is for golfers and non-golfers.

The golf games feature micro-chipped golf balls that produce instant scores, while also showing players their accuracy and distance on a TV screen. Most venues have two floors of hitting bays and normally feature 102 climate-controlled hitting bays that can accommodate up to six players at a time. Topgolf features events for kids and families, golf tournaments, golf instructions and social leagues.

Update: The Myrtle Beach Community Appearance Board has approved a Topgolf location in Myrtle Beach. It will be located at Grissom Parkway and 29th Ave. N., just across from Broadway at the Beach. The sports entertainment venue will be three-stories tall and will offer a restaurant, multiple driving ranges and much more! Be sure to check back here for more updates.
