Golf Channel’s Big Break Show Filmed in Myrtle Beach



The Golf Channel's program Big Break will be set in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for its 22nd season. The popular show follows around twelve wannabe golfers- six men and six women- as they compete to earn their chance at the big times- exemption into a PGA Tour or LPGA Tour event. Most of the filming was done at Barefoot Resort and Golf although a few other area courses will be highlighted.

The winner of Big Break will receive $75,000 in cash prizes; an endorsement contract from Adams Golf; $10,000 in car rental credit from Avis Car Rental; $10,000 in travel credit from Travelocity and a seven-day all-expenses paid return trip to Myrtle Beach at North Beach Plantation with six rounds of golf at any local golf course.

Competitors include Jimmy Brandt of Auburn, AL; Katie Detlefsen of Eagan, MN; Katy Harris of Humble, TX; Charlie Harrison of East St. Louis, IL; Dave Markle of Shelburne, ON, CA; Toph Peterson of Logan, UT; Carolin Pinegger of Schladming, Austria; Krista Puisite of Riga, Latvia; Tessa Teachman of Baton Rouge, LA; and Emilt Tubert of Burbank, CA.
