Description
About Lakewood Camping Resort

Lakewood Camping Resort is a lot more than just camping! Since 1959, Lakewood Camping Resort has provided luxurious amenities, family fun, special events, and the best vacation experience Myrtle Beach has to offer.

Lakewood Camping Resort was the first privately owned Campground on the Grand Strand and has grown to become the best place in Myrtle Beach for families to vacation. It’s no surprise that Lakewood Camping Resort has been named the National RV Park of the Year and Best of the Carolina’s multiple times and has also received the “Plan-It-Green” award for efforts in being Eco-Friendly.

Lakewood is a massive playground for families with over two hundred acres of family fun, a half-mile of beach, full-sized water park, two pools, a mini-golf course, nearly a dozen sports venues, arcade, bikes, multiple watercrafts, fishing, and the best atmosphere for celebrating Camping Culture you’ve ever experienced! With breathtaking views of the ocean, lakes and natural areas, guests are encouraged by management to “Be Nature’s Guest.”

Whatever your camping needs, Lakewood has it all from full hook up pull-through sites as large as 50 ft. to tent sites. And you’ll never go hungry or thirsty with ocean side food truck options like our Fresh Fish Fry, as well as two Ice Cream Parlors, Beach Bum’s Coffee House, and Trading Post.

  • Fun Family Weekend Vacation

That was our first trip to Lakewood (and a NC/SC beach campground for that matter) and we just loved it! Our kids felt like they were in Disney world being able to take Lakewood bucks (given to us by a very helpful staff member - thank you Stacy!) into the Trading Post and get ice cream EVERY day of our camping trip. Admittedly we are younger campers with only a couple years of camping under our belt but our stay was memorable and both my husband and I felt that Lakewood was the most neighborly campground we have been to yet. Our camping spot was oceanfront - we could hear the ocean but could not see it given the dunes there protecting the beach. But just a short walk over the bridge and we were right on the beach and could walk easily back and forth to our camper for snack and bathroom breaks. The site was perfectly level with a very nice paver patio for us to relax on. The kids loved the pool and the water slides, although the water was chilly! We started at the beach and ended at the pool every day and the kids’ favorite (surprisingly) was the lazy river, which, after going a few rounds around with them, I found out they made it not so lazy. Evenings were spent cruising the campground in our rented golf cart (super easy to do!) and chatting to neighbors all while getting new ideas on better ways to setup our campsite :) We have already booked our trip for next year! Thank you to the staff for your warm hospitality, we can't wait to come back!

  • Vacation

Lakewood camping Resort is the place to go. All the amenities the food and customer service is amazing. My family has been loving Lakewood since the 60's and still feel at home and always have such an amazing time. We love Lakewood. Can't wait to hear Pastor Dean's service on Sunday morning. Wish we could live there..
