The Hangout

One of the newer restaurants at Broadway at the Beach, The Hangout is an eatery, retail shop, and family-friendly entertainment venue all in one. The 40,000-square-foot attraction includes a sand pile, foam pit, live music, and more. This laid-back space is the perfect place to unwind with friends and family after a long day on the beach. The live outdoor music and other nightly events, like bingo, comedy, and trivia, are major draws for visitors and locals looking for new things to do.

Illumination Park: An Art Experience

Located at the new Hangout restaurant, Illumination Park offers an immersive art experience that is free and open to the public. The exhibit changes as the sun goes down and the art elements are illuminated. A celebration of childhood symbols and natural elements, Illumination Park offers whimsical  fun as well as plenty of great photo ops.

I Scream Candy

Part candy store, part ice cream confectionery, I Scream Candy is a newer restaurant and shop at Broadway at the Beach. Enjoy handcrafted Super Milkshakes served in mason jars topped with donuts, waffles, or cupcakes, and try rolled ice cream, the newest way to enjoy this chilled treat. Cool off after a day of amusements at Pavilion Park with any of these over-the-top concoctions.

Insomnia Cookies

This new Broadway at the Beach shop is one of many restaurants offering desserts and sweets. The menu features a variety of classics from Sugar to Chocolate Chunk and inventive flavors from S’mores to Salted Caramel. Other offerings include brownies, cookie sandwiches with an ice cream or icing centers, and cookie cakes for any occasion.

New Attractions at Broadway at the Beach

Sloths at Ripley’s Aquarium

In Spring 2023, Ripley’s Aquarium will welcome two-toed sloths to their new home on exhibit at “Sloth Valley.” The slow-moving creatures move at a speed of .46 feet per second due to their low-energy diet of twigs, leaves, buds and flowers. The new exhibit will join a new Discovery Center at the aquarium. Ripley’s is already home to an array of sea creatures, including sharks, stingrays, jellyfish and more, and a colony of adorable penguins.

Key West Village

This area was once a movie theater and mini golf, but has been transformed to make way for new attractions, retail concepts, and entertainment experiences at Broadway at the Beach. Part of the real estate has been appropriated for The Hangout, a can’t-miss restaurant, but other shops including Pura Vida and the Flop Shop have moved in, with more attractions expected in 2023.

Legends in Concert

There’s always something new to see at Legends in Concert. Though the venue has been a mainstay at Broadway at the Beach for years, this attraction’s performers change many times per year. Shows for 2023 include Prince, Adele, Reba McEntire, and others yet to be announced.
