The Changing Face of Ocean Boulevard

Ocean Boulevard in downtown Myrtle Beach is the hub for attractions, dining, and oceanfront accommodations along the Grand Strand. This area is home to the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk and Pier 14 as well as the SlingShot and the iconic Myrtle Beach SkyWheel.

But lately downtown Myrtle Beach has been welcoming some new changes. This includes the 2017 opening of the popular restaurant RipTydz. RipTydz is a beachfront restaurant boasting an open-air rooftop bar overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. This cool hangout is known for their beachfront bar as well as their delectable menu options, including a variety of seafood as well as sandwiches, tacos, and much more. RipTydz hosts live music almost daily and also has a beachfront game area, complete with sandy ground.

Another new addition to Ocean Boulevard includes the new complex called THEBlvd. THEBlvd is home to Tin Roof, Banditos, BurgerFi, and Starbucks restaurants as a gift shop called Seaside General Store.

Tin Roof is a restaurant, bar, and music venue with two stages for live music as well as a popular rooftop bar overlooking the ocean. This Nashville-born restaurant serves up “better than bar food” with selections like Dixie Biscuits (3 fried biscuit sliders with smoked brisket, bacon, peach jam, cheddar cheese), Nashville Hot Chicken, wings, salads, burgers, and more. Of course, the bar here is also popular and features beer, wine, shooters, buckets, Absolut Crushers, and cocktails.

After a 2-year hiatus, Banditos has finally reopened under new ownership at The Blvd. The new Banditos boasts a modern atmosphere along with a new menu. Enjoy Mexican classics like nachos, quesadillas, tacos, and burritos as well as salads, burgers, and sandwiches. Guests here enjoy Banditos’ oceanfront bar, which serves beer, wine, tequila, margaritas, and cocktails.

BugerFi recently opened their third Grand Strand location at THEBlvd. As one may guess by the name, BurgerFi is known for their delicious gourmet burgers, including their specialty burger The CEO (double Wagyu + brisket blend burger with homemade candied bacon-tomato jam, truffle aioli, and aged Swiss cheese). They also offer veggie burgers, chicken, hot dogs, fries, onion rings, shakes, and custard.

Starbucks is perhaps the most-known coffee shop in America, and this new location at THEBlvd serves up all of the Starbucks classics. Here, visitors will find a variety of coffee and espresso beverages as well as teas, pastries, and other food items. These are only just some of the big changes happening to downtown Myrtle Beach.

Those driving up and down Ocean Boulevard will notice new hotels being built as well as other construction going on. Keep an eye out for more news about big changes to the Boulevard in the near future!
