Ripley’s Aquarium of Myrtle Beach invites visitors on a journey of discovery through a world of aquatic enchantment. Located in the Broadway at the Beach entertainment complex, the aquarium promises year-round fun for the whole family.

Guests can embark on a voyage filled with new experiences. The captivating Sloth Valley allows visitors to meet Cleo and Rico, the adorable two-toed sloths, and the lively Penguin Playhouse offers a chance to witness a charming community of South African penguins in action.

At the heart of the aquarium, the discovery center features new touch tanks where visitors can get up close to jellyfish and other fascinating sea creatures. Norman’s Water Lab transforms science into an interactive playground.

Glide through the 330-foot Dangerous Reef shark exhibit, a tunnel for face-to-face encounters with majestic sharks, giant sawfish, Gabby the green sea turtle, and a dazzling array of over 14,000 fish swimming in a colossal 750,000-gallon exhibit.

Diverse exhibits representing various oceans and seas offer a chance to lose oneself in the underwater world.
During the winter season, the aquarium transforms with the enchanting Festival of Trees. Visitors can experience the magic of the holidays with South Carolina’s largest collection of Christmas trees.

Over 50 beautifully adorned trees throughout the aquarium create a festive ambiance, making it the perfect place to create lasting holiday memories.

Ripley’s Aquarium of Myrtle Beach beckons visitors to swim into adventure and make a splash.

My kids always enjoy the aquarium. The touch take is a big hit with them especially when the little sharks come in and they can touch them. Always on the list when we visit.

Help when needed

My aunt has diabetes and her sugar dropped. An employee who is also diabetic had a test kit, she used her own kit and helped us get my aunt’s sugar back up to normal levels. We need candy and soda and they have these items to us. They also called the paramedics to help also. I wish I would her gotten the employee’s name. I did hug her and told her “thank you for what you have done”. I can’t not express how grateful I am for their help.

This place was very nice. Temperature was nice inside and a lot going on. Kept everyone's interest including a 2 yr old and one under 1yr old. The shark tube was the best thing seeing them swim all around you.

Always something new at Ripley’s for the whole family!

There's always something new at Ripley's. For 5 years I have taken my son there and he continues to include that in our Myrtle Beach vacation planning. That's often our first or last stop on the vacation. The exhibits there are wonderful and we could watch the sharks and fish swim all day. This year our favorite exhibit had to be the Halloween Crabs and the Doctor fish. My son often refers to his trip to his aquarium in his writing at school. A fun and educational experience.

An Absolute Must See

Every time I go to Myrtle Beach, I always make sure I spend a few hours at Ripley's Aquarium. This attraction is a must-see. Going through the shark tunnel and being completely surround by sharks is such a cool experience. We actually went through it multiple times during our visit.

Getting wet

This was the one place the Heather wanted to go so bad. She spent almost the entire day there and we still had to drag her out. She love animals of any kind and was in awe with everything she saw. Being able to touch the stingrays and the horseshoe crabs was a little scary for her at first but once she got use to it wow.

If you like fish at all, you must see this!! The tanks are filled with everything from brightly colored tropical fish to seahorses to giant, almost scary sharks swimming in tank above your head. There is also a wealth of information to be learned here. They have an educational center for kids, as well as having tanks marked well, so you will know what you are looking at. They even had poison dart frogs on display. This place is awesome

This is a beautiful place. There was something for everyone. The glass on the tanks was low enough so that children and those of height challenges could enjoy. I found this to be a very tranquil experience.

So many fun things to see. The kids had a great time checking out all the different creatures. They learned a lot of interesting facts and had fun exploring. They loved the mermaids, too. It was SO very crowded, tho, which made it quite stressful on the part of us, the parents.

Ok, but skip if your budget is tight

The kids enjoyed it but I thought it was a bit pricey for what it was. They need more guided educational shows, like Sea World. Also the timing of some events was too far apart. We were there for several hours but still didn't catch the mermaid show.

Don't waste your time or money. The workers were rude and uninterested...overpriced, very few attractions in the aquarium. Felt very ripped off.
