Is this new Myrtle Beach song cheesy or catchy?

Recently, we’ve been getting a lot of feedback regarding a new song about Myrtle Beach that many of our visitors have come across this season.

The tune, entitled “Days Like This” has recently been featured in an ad for the area produced by the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce.

Though the musician behind the track is a bit of a mystery — the chamber is keeping the name of the artist under wraps — the song itself seems to have divided our beloved in Myrtle Beach visitors into two camps.

While some folks love it and have lauded its bright, catchy chorus others really hate it and have gone as far as to call it overproduced and cheesy. Here’s a look at the song as well as a sample of what people are saying about it:

“Who sings that song? It’s a great catchy song.” — Fay

“I will not return to Myrtle Beach as long as that vile, insipid, disgusting ‘Myrtle Beach Daze’ (sic) commercial disappears.”  — Pete

“It is very lovely and makes me want to leave right now to enjoy Myrtle Beach Day….whoever wrote that song please share that it is perfect and I could sing it all day.” — Jan

“The ad comes across as elementary and cheesy. … I don’t mean to be ugly but someone of authority should have had to approve that prior to it being shown. Myrtle Beach is much too classy to produce something like that for the public’s viewing” — David
