Greg Norman Australian Grille Offers Array of Culinary Delights, Amazing Water Views

I recently stopped in at Greg Norman Australian Grille in Myrtle Beach for an early afternoon dinner on their beautiful, relaxing patio with views of the Intracoastal Waterway to sample some of their house specialties.  Surprisingly, even though the weather has been extremely warm, the patio was inviting and cool.  I was offered a cold and refreshing margarita, deliciously served with citrus garnishes as I basked in the beautiful view that Barefoot Landing offers.

My meal started with a generous sampling of their popular appetizers, the creamy Hot Crab Dip, the perfectly crisp Calamari paired with a hearty marinara, the delicately seared Sliced Tuna accompanied by fresh wasabi crema, crisp cucumbers and cilantro and a very unusual offering of wild Aussie Kangaroo on a bed of diced melon, mango, and pineapple.  I had never considered ordering kangaroo, but this experience enabled me to enjoy a unique Australian delicacy.  The tender, braised medallions nestled in a fruit salsa and I can honestly say this is now one of my personal favorites.

Needless to say, the first course was quite satisfying, but the chef was only getting started to showcase a sampling of their signature dinner entrees.  From the Ocean, the Szechuan-inspired, pan roasted Spiced Ahi Tuna atop crispy Kung Pao-style brussels sprouts drizzled with Korean BBQ Sauce.  The melding of the Asian flavors give this dish a unique twist.  From the Farm, an 8 oz. perfectly grilled, pepper-encrusted Prime Filet Au Poivre complimented by wild mushrooms, creamy garlic mashed potatoes, crispy leeks and a delicate au poivre sauce.  This is a sophisticated take on filet mignon. Last but not least, an offering from their A La Carte Wood Grilled Classics, the quintessential favorite, the melt in your mouth Prime Filet Mignon & Lobster with drawn butter with a selection of shareable Sides that satisfy any palate.

I was definitely satisfied after the dinner course, but a sweet treat is the perfect ending to a fabulous meal.  I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to take home one of my favorite “Lollies,” a couple slices of their tangy, creamy key lime pie.  The Lollies menu has something for everyone to satisfy your sweet tooth.

The service staff is excellent and attentive. The Wine List and Specialty Drink Menu will not disappoint with its fine selection of domestic and imported wines, spirits and cordials.

The menu offers a number of delicious food to sample, and I look forward to going back soon to try some more. I encourage locals and tourists alike to explore a unique dining destination for any occasion in Myrtle Beach.
