New Bakery Opening from Cupcake Wars

Myrtle Beach is soon to be home to a new hot spot for sweet treats, cupcakes and more. Coccadotts Cake Shop, as seen on Food Network’s “Cupcake Wars,” is set to open this spring on the Grand Strand.

Coccadotts was started in 2007 in Albany, NY by Rachel Cocca-Dott and Matthew O’Connor. They  will now have a home in Myrtle Beach in Sayebrook Plaza near the new Target and will offer a wide variety of cakes, cookies, pastries and, of course, specialty cupcakes. Their unique flavor combinations like Banana Split, Raspberry Lemonade, S’mores and Strawberries and Champagne helped them make a name for themselves in the Northeast and they’re trying to do the same at the beach.

They decided to open a second location in Myrtle Beach because Cocca-Dott’s father and stepmother live in the area and will run the shop. “Opening a shop in Myrtle Beach is just another dream come true,” said Rachel. “We cannot wait until our doors open in March in Myrtle Beach- the city and our shop are a perfect match for each other!”

Coccadotts Cake Shop will whip up custom wedding cakes and personalized orders for birthday parties, showers and special events. They will soon offer nationwide shipping on cupcakes and treats.

Coccadotts Cake Shop is located at 106 Sayebrook Parkway in Myrtle Beach. Check them out online at Coccadotts.com or call them at (843) 294-2253.
