About The Pier at Garden City Beach

With entertainment including live music on two stages, two full-service bars, karaoke and a full arcade, the pier at Garden City is about more than just the great fishing!

The kids will love the arcade, which is packed with popular games like Skee Ball, Wheel of Fortune, Deal or No Deal, Clown Roll Down and more. A cafe serves hot dogs, burgers, fries and cold sodas. For the grown-ups, two bars offer cold drinks and live music with a spectacular view of the beach. The bar areas are age-restricted at night, but parents with kids in tow can still enjoy the music and a stroll down the pier. Pier walking is free.

But the fishing is not to be ignored. Stop by the tackle shop for everything you need: Bait, tackle, rods and reels, cold drinks, coolers, buckets and snacks. No need to cut your fishing time short for shopping: You can grab your souvenirs here, too.

A daily pass for adults is $9.50 with a two-rod limit. Children 12 and under fish for $4.75. A seven-day pass is $50; and a season pass (March-December is $150). Rod rentals are $9/day with a deposit. Prices are subject to change.

Near the pier are several beachware stores, bars and shops. Sam’s Corner serves up famous hot dogs, breakfast foods, burgers and more just across the street, and Painter’s Ice Cream is right next door with delicous homemade ice cream creations.

  • Pier

Garden City Pier is the best place ever! My family and friends go there on a regular basis. The food is good, the bar staff if wonderful, so friendly. I just wish residents could be a discount at the bar since we're there several times a week.

  • Garden City Pier Night Life experience

I've been to the Garden City pier during the day before while visiting friends in Surfside Beach. On a recent trip, I took the opportunity to visit the pier at night with a friend from Surfside Beach and few other friends visiting from South Africa. What a great time we had with two bands playing and seeing the nightlife in action. We also got to see some sharks swimming around the pier - so cool seeing them illuminated by the lights from the pier in the gloomy darkness of the water. Hope the pier and the rest of the Garden City community recover quickly from Hurricane Ian. So sad to see the storm surge cover the roads.

  • Lots of fun

Went to the beach for a fast 2.4 day trip. Planned on just walking down the pier and leaving. But had so much fun I spent most of my trip here.
