About Go Ape Zip Line & Treetop Adventure

*Go Ape Treetop Adventure has closed*

There are plenty of options for things to do in Myrtle Beach if you’re in need of some activity time away from the ocean. One of the newest additions to the area is Go Ape Treetop Adventure at the North Myrtle Beach Park & Sports Complex, which provides visitors with a two-to-three hour Tarzan-like experience up in the trees. The adventure begins with a 30-minute safety training course, where visitors will be taught how to work the harnesses, pulleys, and carabiners. And while staff instructors will always be wandering through the forest in case anyone needs help, visitors are pretty much on their own to ride the five ziplines, glide through the trees on swings, climb rope-ladders, and navigate obstacle bridges. In all, the Go Ape course features almost 2,500 feet of zipline, with the last one reaching over 900 feet! The height of the course also gives participants unmatched views of the natural setting, whether flying high over the lake, or balancing across ropes-bridge. In all, there are 40 crossings including a Spider Web, Zigzag bridge, Flying Carpet, and Jungle Crossing. Those who aren’t crazy about heights can also participate by cheering on the adventurers and taking some pictures of these exciting features. Go Ape is a great way to get the adrenaline going, and to forget about everything else happening in the outside world. And, as with any exciting outdoor adventure, some age and weight restrictions do apply – under 18 must be accompanied by a participating adult, minimum age is 10, minimum height is 4’7”, maximum weight is 285 pounds, and pregnant women are not advised to participate.
