Top 10 Restaurants for Carolina Country Music Fest

The typical festival vendor food will be available at the inaugural Carolina Country Music Fest, but in case you’d like something a little more interesting before or after the show, you shouldn’t have any trouble finding a good bite to eat in this town.

That said, choosing from the numerous eateries within walking distance of the stages will be the hard part.

We’ve narrowed down the options to what we think are the best 10 places to grab a bite, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t other spots nearby where you can pick up a good meal.

Bandito's Restaurant & Cantina

Located just a few blocks north of the music, the beachfront patio at this popular Mexican joint is a great place to grab some Quesadillas, Fish Tacos, Enchiladas, or Chimichangas to go with a pre-festival margarita, or choose from more than 100 available tequilas and share some shots with your party. In the spirit of country music, you might also check out the Redneck Tacos with crispy chicken, hot sauce, lettuce, and bleu cheese.

ART Burger Sushi Bar

ART Burger Sushi Bar

706 N Ocean Blvd, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577

based on 2 reviews

A new addition to the Ocean Boulevard dining scene, ART serves a unique combination of specialty sushi rolls, gourmet burgers, and nitrogen-infused drinks, making this a convenient place to satisfy groups with varying tastes. Each burger is named for a historically-relevant painter, like the Rembrandt, a half-pound beef patty seared in duck fat and topped with confit mushrooms, manchego cheese, and Dijon mustard. And ART also has a huge seating area outside on the Boardwalk, where the liquid nitrogen really comes in handy on a hot summer day.

Farlo's Burrito Bar

Just on the other side of the zip lines from the main stage is a burrito bar that stays open well after the music stops. You know the drill – choose a vehicle (burrito, taco, bowl, salad), choose a meat or protein, pick some fresh, never-frozen toppings, and tack on whatever sides you like (chips & salsa, cheese dip, guacamole, etc.). In addition to the dining area and bar, there’s also a patio that’s perfect for enjoying the downtown energy that the festival will bring to the area.

Peaches Corner

Peaches Corner

900 North Ocean Blvd, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577

based on 1 reviews

Located on the corner adjacent to the main stage, this Myrtle Beach institution will be the most obvious place to grab a bite, and probably the busiest. With limited seating and a menu full of concert-friendly foods like the Classic Foot-Long Hot Dog, Southern Nachos with pit-smoked bbq, Fried Pickles, a basket of Chili Cheese Fries, Waffle Cones, and Root Beer Floats, it’d be reasonable to expect a bit of line here during peak hours.

Hammerhead Grille

Hammerhead Grille

700 North Ocean Boulevard, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577

With an oceanfront lawn featuring corn hole and live music, this nearby eatery should be a festive place to relax before or after the concerts. The menu is short and sweet, featuring hand-pattied Burgers, local seafood Sandwiches and Tacos, and appetizers like Back Barrier Fried Pickles and Surfside Spuds, making Hammerhead an attractive option for those who don’t want to be too far from the Main Stage, just in case there’s a mic-check or encore set that happens spontaneously.

It’s likely that Celebrity Square at Broadway at the Beach will pick up a lot of the overflow after the shows each night, and Country Roads will be a hoppin’ spot to tap your feet. Featuring a full menu of food, numerous craft beers on tap, and one of the area’s only Moonshine bars, this club will be a natural progression for partiers looking to extend the night a little longer.

River City Cafe

River City Cafe

404 21st Ave. N., Myrtle Beach, SC 29572

It’s a little hike on foot, or a short shuttle or cab ride, but this 21st Avenue North burger joint has been a locals’ favorite for decades. Snack on some peanuts and toss the shells on the floor while you wait for the main event, and then just hope that you’ve saved enough room for the big, juicy burger that arrives just the way you like it. But if fresh beef isn’t your thing, choose from numerous options like Salads, Hot Dogs, Platters, Po’ Boys, Veggie Burgers, and more.

8th Avenue Tiki Bar & Grill

The menu here is full of tropical and Mediterranean-inspired items like Coconut Shrimp, Fish Tacos, Hawaiian Island BLT, Kebob Sliders, and a Falafel Burger. It’s also a stone’s throw from the main stage and, for all the history buffs out there, rumor has it that the wrap party for Magic Mike XXL was held here.

Atlas Tap House

Atlas Tap House

1004 Chester St., Myrtle Beach, SC 29577

Operating under the motto “Craft Beer, Bourbon, and BBQ,” this gastropub just up the street on Mr. Joe White Avenue serves Smoked Wings, Soft Tacos, Burgers, and, of course, several BBQ Sandwich options. As for beer, the list is too long to get into too much detail, but current offerings include selections from Dogfish Head, Harpoon, Lagunitas, Oskar Blues, Sweetwater, Founders, Great Divide, Stone, and more. And as far as Bourbon goes, they have pretty much anything you can think of.

Bumstead's Pub

Located catty-corner to Atlas, Bumstead’s also serves an impressive selection of beers from around the world, as well as a menu full of things that will fill you up. Best known for the sandwich meats that are served in the adjacent Dagwood’s Deli during lunch, nighttime visitors can choose from items like Beer-Battered Onion Rings, Smoking Joe Frazier Fries, Tater Tot Nachos, Fish n’ Chips, The Famous (12oz) Dagwood Burger, and plenty more.
