Nacho Hippo Food

If you’re in the mood for great Tex-Mex food wth a flair all its own, Nacho Hippo is the place to be. This taco joint’s menu is chock full of goodness that all starts with the preparation. Every day tortilla chips are made fresh, tortillas are steamed, salsa is whipped up, garden fresh veggies are chopped, white meat chicken breast is baked, ground beef is browned and seasoned, pork is pulled, and that’s just the beginning. All of these fresh ingredients go into making your favorite appetizers, tasty handheld tacos, ‘Best of the Beach’ nachos, overstuffed quesadillas, sloppy burritos, and way more. The nachos are famous on the beach for being huge and delicious with layers and layers of fresh chips, queso, plenty of veggies, and your favorite fresh protein. There are plenty of signature nachos to choose from, or you can create your own! If you’re a big fan of tacos there are over 15 creations to choose from like the pulled pork based Carolina Kid, to the Southern inspired Mrs. Daisy with fried green tomatoes, or the classic Gringo with your choice of pork, chicken, or beef with cheese, lettuce, and pico de gallo. It’s impossible to have just one. Appetizers like grilled corn on the cob covered in crema sauce or the old stand by queso dip and chips never disappoint either. If all this food talk is making you thirsty, then head over to the bar and let our bartenders fix you up with the right elixir! The specialty is of course a 32oz fresh margarita with a Coronita in it dubbed the Mexicali, but there’s a lot to love about the Hip Bucket too. Prepared in a 32oz souvenir sand bucket, this drink is tropical, refreshing, and perfect for sharing. Be sure to check out the full food and drink menu online.

Nacho Hippo Atmosphere

Nacho Hippo is about as laid back and funky as any cantina gets! Vibrant and cheerful, these restaurants are covered in locally made art, bright patterns, and all sorts of other textures and decorations that keep your eyes busy when they’re not chowing down on the awesome food. Each location has a little something different to offer, but both offer up a great time! The Market Common location boasts more air conditioned spaces as well as outdoor seating with a variety of seating choices like picnic tables, regular tables, or high top tables, while the North Myrtle Beach location is primarily an open air concept that’s perfect for true beach monkeys and summer nights with a fire pit, retail shop, and a variety of seating choices as well. Did we mention that both locations are less than half a mile from the beach? Perfect for jumping in the car and heading over to check out the live music happening nightly during the summer, and each weekend during the off season. These cantinas also boast gorgeous roomy bars with plenty of large TV’s for any sports you’d like to watch – especially handy during football season. If you’re looking for an upbeat place to chill, there’s not a frowning face to be found in Nacho Hippo with all the friendly staff on board and the sea of tie dye shirts running around.
