Captain Dave’s Dockside

This family owned establishment began serving fresh seafood from a waterfront home in 1975. Four decades and a complete home makeover later, Capt. Dave’s Dockside still has that welcoming spirit and straight-off-the-dock seafood that keeps people coming back. It’s a fixture on the Murrells Inlet Marsh Walk.

Capt. Dave’s Food

Just like the building, Capt. Dave’s menu also has seen a complete overhaul since the early days of fried seafood baskets. Although a limited selection of fried items are available, Capt. Dave’s now puts the emphasis on grilled and sautéed seafood with fresh vegetables in creative combinations. Getting its seafood straight from the local docks, Capt. Dave’s prepares its fresh catch over a natural lump coal grill with unique seasonings for melt-in-your-mouth seafood and steaks. The Pan-Crusted Grouper is a house favorite and nightly specials allow guests to select from a variety of species and spices. A wine list that features more than 100 options and a full bar are available.

Capt. Dave’s Atmosphere

The new building’s design takes full advantage of the waterfront view, with a large outdoor patio and much of the indoor dining area overlooking the inlet.  Although casual dress is common, the indoor section is elegantly decorated for a formal dinner. The bar area and patio are more laid-back and great places to hang out after dinner.
