The Georgetown County School District offers pre-kindergarten through 12th grade to the Georgetown area

The Georgetown County School District serves more than 9,600 students and employs more than 1,300 full-time workers, more than half of which are classroom teachers. The county-wide district provides pre-kindergarten through 12th grade, plus other educational programs in the Georgetown area.

Georgetown County Schools has 20 total schools: nine elementary, one intermediate school, one charter school, four middle schools, four high schools, and an adult education center. The district also has an Optional Education Program housed at the Howard Education Center.

Georgetown County Schools recently received its first “Excellent” report card for the 2012-13 academic year and also was honored for overall improvement. Schools located on the Grand Strand – Waccamaw and Georgetown elementary, middle and high schools – all received Excellent grade, as well.
