We stayed here last year I wanted to remind people what a bad place this was and horrible experience we had. We went into the pool and Jacuzzi one time and all our new suits were bleached and ruined. They were not the cheap kind either. We went directly to the manager. They said they would test the water and get back to us. Basically to bad we don't care is what they said. There were several other guests that had the same complaint and burned the eyes. They did not do anything but say they have a sign that states swim at your own risk. Really??? CUSTOMER NO SERVICE here. Not worth the price. Don't get sucked in by the rates and location. The rooms need cleaning badly and the staff need training on being polite to guests.

My friend and I have been staying at the Sandcastle for a long time and have always found it to be a very pleasant hotel to stay at. We do not require a fancy place to stay in but our rooms have always been clean and the service from the hotel staff has always been top notch. We have always had an oceanfront room and enjoy the view, it's the best!

So the good things were: We got there early (11:30am) after driving all night and were able to check right in to a room. The view from our room was amazing. We had an efficency room with an Ocean view on the 4th floor. There was a good size fridge, a stove, and microwave. We only stayed one night so we didn't use anything but the fridge for drinks. The pool and lazy river were nice and there was an outdoor bar to get drinks. There were plenty of chairs to sit at the pool. The bad: The very, very, very slow elevator, it was also very small too. The drunk college kids who stayed in the lazy river all day, and brought glass bottles, along with cans of beer to the pool area and the bartender and managment didn't say anything (rules say no outside alcohol to be brought into the pool area). Due to the slow elevator we took the stairs, thnakfully only up 4 flights, but the stairwell was dark, appeared to have vomit in them, and were not very clean. The walls were thin and I could hear noise all night from the adjoining rooms (disclaimer: I'm a super light sleeper though). Our smoke detecter started beeping at 10:00pm because the battery was low. I couldn't reach anyone at the front desk. I was able to reach maintence and he showed up within 20 minutes to change out the smoke detector. Overall the place isn't the best, but its not the worst. The location is by far the best part. The hotel was a little dated but overall it wasn't that bad. I would probably stay again but not during college spring break.

I will start with the good things. Location was pretty good, everthing was in walking distance. Parking was fine, I was able to park directly across the street. The front desk staff was friendly. The room was OLD and OUTDATED. The beds and mattresses were clearly OLD and very uncomfortable and the pillows were cheap and horrible. The lighting was bad, just looked gloomy even if all the lights were on. OLD television. OLD carpet. OLD bathroom. The toilet was constantly running. We returned to our room to fnd that room service did not come. I called the front desk and was told they were already gone for the day and they didnt know why no one came but i could come and get any supplies i needed. I had my daughter go down for towels and they told her they didn't have any. So I called and was told they had some and they were on their way up as we were speaking. 40 minutes later....no towels. I go down to the desk myself and was told they didn't have any towels. I asked how that was possible when I was told towels were on their way up as we were speaking. He told me " we were checking into it as we were speaking". The price wasn't bad....but this place was still not worth it.
