Myrtle Beach diners, are you getting tired of holiday food?

If you want creative curries, sizzling Szechuan and succulent sushi, we have the list you seek: The Top 10 Asian restaurants in the Myrtle Beach area.

10. Osaka Buffet

794 Oak Forest Lane, Myrtle Beach, 839-5959.

Yes, it's a buffet, but this one is both affordable and extensive, and it has simple sushi such as California Rolls on it. I've also found yummy American foods there such as a whole side of steamed salmon.

9. Blue Elephant Thai Cuisine

4493 U.S. 17 Business, Murrells Inlet, 651-5863.

The owner uses exacting and exhaustive preparation methods to create his lovely dishes. He also grows his own seasonal herbs and vegetables.

8. Ichiro's Express

1225 38th Ave. N., Myrtle Beach, 839-5678; and 4684 Socastee Blvd., Myrtle Beach, 283-1400

At first glance these restaurants seem to be like any other neighborhood quick-serve Japanese restaurant, but Ichiro's is special. They're locally owned, they serve tasty and inexpensive seafood, they deliver, they have basic sushi rolls and the one in Socastee has a drive-through window.

7. Thai Season

1004 U.S. 17 Bypass S., North Myrtle Beach, 663-9300

Don't let the humble exterior fool you, because owner Sak Yiengjuntuek has created a lovely decor, and he serves excellent and original Thai dishes in addition to the old favorites. If you like curry, you're going to be delighted.

6. Jay's Asian Fusion Restaurant

2126 S.C. 9, Longs, 399-9988

This one is out of the way for oceanfront visitors and dwellers, but for those who are golfing or living out near Longs in the western part of Horry County, Jay's is on their cell phone speed dials. The sushi is excellent and beautiful, and the extensive menu offers Chinese, Japanese and Thai dishes. They also have a private room you can reserve for large groups.

5. Thai Cuisine

1210 N. Kings Highway, Myrtle Beach, 946-7475

What they lack in ambiance is made up for with well-prepared Thai home cooking such as Chicken Larb, Drunken Noodles and Papaya Salad.

4. Bangkok House

318 N. Kings Highway, Myrtle Beach, 626-5384.

In Myrtle Beach time, Bangkok House has been around forever, which is about 20 years. Diners receive consistently delicious and inexpensive food. My favorite is the lunch specials with their ginger soup: If you have a cold, this is just the sinus-clearing remedy you'll crave.

E Noodles & Co.

3. E Noodles 400 20th Ave. S., Myrtle Beach, SC 29577

110 U.S. 17 S., North Myrtle Beach, 663-1628.

There used to be two locations, but this is the only one left. What's great about E Noodles is they take their dishes a half-step above typical Asian fare (try the crispy-fried tofu), but they don't take it up so far that it's too pricey.

2. Indo Thai Sushi Hibachi

980 82nd Parkway, Myrtle Beach, 692-7000; and 47 Da Gullah Way, Pawleys Island, 314-3543.

An Indonesian couple own these restaurants that are locals' favorites for sushi, especially the happy hour sushi deals. Proprietor Laura Heriyadi's house-made sauces are incredible.

1. Jimmyz Original Hibachi House

6108 N. Kings Highway, Myrtle Beach, 839-8008.

Owner Jimmy Miller has created a quick-serve hibachi house that attracts customers of all ages who crave his beef, chicken and fresh seafood hibachi meals, plus creative wraps, salads and a small sushi menu. It's quick, cheap, fresh and oh-so-addictive. He also makes his mom's recipe for Beef Bulgogi.
