Second wonderful trip to Myrtle Beach

The Driftwood is an economical way to stay in Myrtle Beach. The location is excellent 5 min. walk to the Boardwalk. Within walking distance to everything. Went to see the show at the Palace Theatre and had a wonderful time. People were friendly and courteous. Food was great. Hotel was under reno, so we got a musty room, ocean side. Room was clean and effective for our needs. Little too cool for my liking, but you can't control the weather.

One bad stay

We have stayed there for years but the last time I was there was 2 years ago and it was a mess. The carpet was gross and felt damp, couldn't walk on it without shoes and the things they had been working on a year before were still not done. We love the location but hated the mess

Ocean View

Picture view on line is different than the actual view of the hotel. Registration is at one location and you go another location to your room. Issue in the registration and needed management to fix the issue since all of the registration was done over the phone. Actual hotel in the lobby very un-personable two (2) people at the lobby did not speak and the lobby was full from previous guest leaving on your arrival time. The elevator had an odor and carpet not really clean. The room did not have an ocean view as I requested it was on the side and the previous guest or a clean up person went into the room and used the bathroom and all of that odor was in the room when we entered. So they had to call house keeping to give me a big cleaning. The room had no carpet and the balcony door was broken. We stuck it out and the kids had fun which was summer vacation.

Most beautiful place on earth

We had a great time staying at Driftwood. It was nice having a kitchen, decent sized bathroom, and comfy beds..staff was very nice too. It's close to everything as well. The SkyWheel was about a block or so away. We loved it! Def plan on coming back ASAP and maybe even becoming residents in the future smile
