"Rivers Edge is a great layout, although when the wind blows you have to be on your game. The course was in good shape. The bermuda greens were a bit slow, but were true. There are a few holes where they have some bare spots on the edges of the greens, but it did not detract from the experience. It is no secret that Rivers Edge has struggled with their greens, but they have figured them out and this is definitely a place to put on your list."

"Rivers Edge, what a great shotmakers golf course. This golf course calls for the use of every club in the bag. We played the white tees, and on some holes, used irons off the tees. The course, is in good shape. Greens, were, fast, rolled true, and very grainny. Alot of holes are, very good. Number 1, is a tough starting hole, very narrow. Number 9, 17, 18, are evcellent also. The layout, is outstanding. Starters, were nice, bag drop attendents, helpful, and attentive. We had lunch, in the grill, and the lunch special, was good. The course, like most course in Myrtle Beach, keeps everything running smoothly. The only bad thing, which the course has no control over, is the No Seeomes. The bugs, were really, really bad. They bite and buzz around your head all day, if there is NO WIND. If you play there. from March 1st, to June 1st, You MUST, bring bug spray. The courses along, the inter coastal, waterway seem to have this problem. We had no problem, inland."

"Close to being the best course that I have ever played !!! Very hard to describe exactly what type of course it is - semi links, parkland,......but one sure thing is that it is a course that will last long in the memory. Each hole has its own unique quality but in particular holes 9, 11, 16, 17 & 18 are outstanding. The scenery is breathtaking with views of the marshlands adding greatly to the overall enjoyment. It is not an easy course with both tee shots and approach play requiring full concentration. The greens were very good and attention had to be given to the grain which is something that we amateur golfers done give enough attention to. The signature hole, par 5 no. 9, is simply outstanding and having read a lot about it I was really looking forward to the challenge. The tee shot is aimed to a hidden (from the tee) landing area and unless you are driving the ball 300 yards then the second shot is a lay up to a small landing area. The 3rd shot is then played through a narrow channel of fairway to a long green that is probably only 15 yards wide - take your par and run !!! The only disappointment is the pro shop which is small in comparison to other clubs and doesn't carry a lot of stock and the only yardage books that they had were photocopies!"

"Golf course is beautiful and in great condition considering the recent heavy rains in North and South Carolina. Fairways were soggy, but the greens were firm and putted beautifully. Love the layout. Friendly staff."

"What a golf course! Six of its holes are along marshland and Intracoastal Waterway. Those holes are one of the nicest and most spectacular you'll ever play. Number 9 and 18 are just awesome, fantastic, spectacular and at the same time (especially number 9) one of the most challening holes i ever played. All other holes are nice too! The fairways were ingreat shape. Thee Tees and greens just have been aerified (4 days before we played it) so there was quite some sand on them and they were not really playable. Same with bunkers, there wasn't a lot of sand in them. However, it was worth playing it just because of the layout. I definitely will play it again."

"Straight into my top 10 of all time courses. Lots of good holes and a few great ones. Greens were not quite up to speed after a bad winter but did not spoil a fantastic course and one I would recommend to anyone. Poor pro shop but that seems to be a theme at all courses we played."

"Overall the course was in good condition given the weather conditions. Greens were slow but appeared to be rebounding nicely from earlier problems. The staff was polite and did of good job of handling the weather delay. Very scenic!"
