The West Course at Myrtle Beach National is a favorite course among tourists and locals. Many use the West Course as their first round in their golf trip to get ready for some of the more challenging courses on their itinerary. Myrtle Beach National West Course is a very well maintained Par 72 course playing just over 6,000 yards from the whites. If you’re hitting your second shots well, this course should play easy for you with all par 4’s playing less than 400 yds and all Par 5’s are reachable in two, making for some realistic eagle chances. The draw will be your best friend here as there are quite a few dogleg lefts. The challenge of the West Course is found on the greens. They slope back to front so hitting over the green will leave you little chance to stop the ball when scrambling.
The West Course at Myrtle Beach National features a traditional course layout with roomy fairways. Like it’s sister course, Kings North, the West Course doesn’t have any houses alongside the fairways. The well maintained Mini-Verde Bermuda Grass greens offer a true roll, and make good scores attainable for any golfer’s skill level.
