2 new Myrtle Beach bowling alleys coming soon

Family entertainment has always been the core of all the amazing things to do in Myrtle Beach, and thanks to a pair of new bowling alleys there will soon be even more fun to be had here.

The first, 710 North Myrtle Beach, is scheduled to open on May 1 in the former home of the North Myrtle Beach Bowling Center. This completely-renovated facility is named for the infamous “7-10” split in bowling and will feature 20 lanes of bowling, plus a full-service restaurant, bar, outdoor patio and more.

Those looking for family fun or rainy day activities in Myrtle Beach can choose from a wide selection of games. There will be Bocce courts, Table Tennis, Billiards, Shuffleboard tables and Air hockey tables available for hourly rental, as well as free unlimited play of games like Darts, Foosball, Checkers, Chess, Backgammon and Scrabble.

710 will also offer plenty for those in search of nightlife, with a bar serving more than a dozen craft brews and cocktails, plus arcade games, live music and entertainment.

Plans in place for new bowling alley in Myrtle Beach

Also, announced earlier this month, plans are in motion to contstruct a brand-new bowling alley and family entertainment center in Myrtle Beach. The proposed 54,000-square foot facility would feature more than 20 lanes of bowling, a restaurant, multiple bars, game rooms, simulated golf, laser tag, and an outdoor game area with bocce courts.

This new Myrtle Beach bowling alley would take over a portion of the former Myrtle Beach Flea Market at the Glenmark Shopping Center near Myrtle Beach State Park on the south end of the city. The flea market's property, which closed in Feburary, now also plays home to a smaller market known as the Grand Strand Flea Market. 

Though this facility is still in the planning phases, if all goes well it should be up and running by 2016 according to shopping center officials.

The project would mark the fifth public bowling alley in the Myrtle Beach area, including the Surfside Beach Bowling Center, Frank Theatres Cinebowl & Grille, 710 North Myrtle Beach and Waccamaw Lanes — which is also in the midst of a $400,000 renovation project. It would be the third family entertainment center of its type to open since the Frank Theatres Cinebowl & Grille re-opened at Inlet Square Mall in 2011.

Of course, those looking to capitalize on in-resort facilities can also choose to stay at Captain's Quarters, which features the Level 6 Entertainment Center and bowling alley.
