Top 10 Things To Do Under $10

Myrtle Beach’s main attraction is free - enjoying the white sand and warm water of the Atlantic Ocean is complimentary to everyone who makes the trip. But there are lots of other budget-friendly ways to enjoy your vacation on the Grand Strand. Here are ten things under ten dollars to consider.

Myrtle Beach Pelicans

Head out to field to see the stars of tomorrow in action. The Pelicans are the Class A affiliate of the Texas Rangers. $9 gets you a seat in the Budweiser Thirst Inning Deck, or upgrade to the Grand Strand Reserve seats for $10. Kids can run the bases after the game every night, and Fireworks follow the action on Saturdays and various other nights of the week.

Fun Plaza Arcade

Ten bucks goes a long way when you’re spending a quarter at a time, and this place has it all – skee ball, retro baseball, air hockey, and arcade games. Win tickets and save them up for a prize at the end of the night. Open late all summer.

Mt. Atlanticus Minitaur Goff

The dramatic scenery and views at this downtown Myrtle Beach location are probably the best among mini-golf courses on the Grand Strand. Putt-Putters will make their way through caverns and tiki huts several stories in the air as they try to best their partners. Get a round in before 6 p.m. ($9) and have plenty to talk about during dinner.

For many visitors, fireworks are synonymous with Myrtle Beach vacations. Check out the free explosions at Broadway at the Beach every Tuesday (and many Fridays) at 10 p.m., and at Plyler Park throughout the summer.

Franklin G. Burroughs-Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum of Myrtle Beach

Need a little culture to complement your Myrtle Beach vacation? Wander into the area’s only art museum (housed in an historic villa, by the way) and check out the latest exhibitions. Donations are accepted, but admission is otherwise free.

Walk on a Pier

Some of the best views of the Grand Strand can be seen from one of several piers – 2nd Avenue, 14th Avenue, Cherry Grove, Surfside, Garden City, Springmaid, Myrtle Beach State Park, and Apache Campground. There is a small fee if you’re just out for a stroll, but the views and photo ops are well worth it. It’s also fun to see what the fishermen and women are reeling in on any given day.

Myrtle Beach State Park

The state park is a great place to go to fully enjoy the natural landscape of the South Carolina coast. Explore the maritime forest, learn some new things at the nature center, or search the uncluttered beach for shells and creatures. General admission is $5 for adults, $3 ages 6-15, and free for kids 6 and under.

Hot Summer Nights

Myrtle Beach’s biggest fireworks show, a concert series, and kids’ carnivals and festivals all in one place? For free? Yep. The Myrtle Beach Boardwalk will be hosting these blowout events from June through August on select nights. Stay tuned to for exact times and dates.

Ripley's Mirror Maze

Want to see yourself reflected endlessly while you try to find your way through a maze? Then this is the place for you. Dead-ends, continuous circles, and surprising corners are all obstacles, but in a fun way. Tickets are $8.99 when you buy them online.

Rides at Broadway at the Beach

All-day passes are probably the way to go, but at $15 the price exceeds the parameters set for this list. Individual tickets are $2 and rides start at 2 tickets per ride. But really, why get on more than a ride or two when there's so much else going on at Broadway?
